Clean the area around the fitting before you remove it so you don't deposit anything in there while you are replacing the fitting.

Has anyone using the restrictors noticed more oil leaks around the engine from higher oil pressure?

I'd understood that the higher oil pressure achieved is mostly at idle and lower RPMs, where oil pressure is low anyway. Did you put restrictors and notice more leaks?

Try not, Do or Do not

We were making our own cam feed control fittings a decade before Porsche introduced them in the 965.
We have never seen a connection between reduced oil flow to the top end and new oil leaks. What you are probably seeing is correlation without causation.
