Wow, I am profoundly disappointed. I lurk the Rebuild forum and soak up as much as I can in anticipation of a rebuild down the line... I had come to the conclusion (months ago) that Henry and Supertech would be helping me with whatever I can't do on my 3.0.
Now this. You know, I left the 'other' Porsche forum because of this same behavior. A need by a few members to 'control' the atmosphere of the board by pounding down the nails that were just a little higher than the mean. I saw this happening regardless of whether or not the forum charter or rules were broken. Just some members deciding that 'their' arbitrary line had been crossed (or the 'ambiance' didn't quite suit them) and therefore they were going to correct it. The downside is the moderators get caught in the middle and the majority of us lose a valued member and contributor. Please do the right thing Wayne and Moderators and ask Henry to resume contributing to Pelican. His insights are invaluable, no matter if he offends a few of the uptight. Eric

I always look forward to Henry's posts. Who would take exception to the high-level of tech expertize that he brings to the board. The personality is a plus, not a minus. Bring him back. Stop the madness. Next thing you know there will be restrictions regarding comments on cars for sale...........

Henry was invaluable during my rebuild and always offered up his years of experience for the asking - if he doesn't come back it will be at the detriment of the board.
If we didn't have people like Wayne, John, Henry, Steve and others, I doubt I could have tackled my engine rebuild and come away with the sucess I did. Personally, I'm glad my rods were balanced without having to weld a nut in the wrist pin and that I didn't use silicon sealant to seal up most parts. Sometimes "there are no stupid questions, only stupid people" Sometimes it's good to have somebody (Henry) let them know that. +1 to ban the whiner(s) - it's not like the comments were personal - they seemed pretty much technical - if you can't handle a differing opinion, don't post something that begs to be challenged (carrillo rods are the best rod ever made and most F1 teams use them). I'm sure I have near zero credibility with my low post count and the fact that I don't even own a P-car, I just wish I did. However, I read this board daily because I find it interesting, and while Henry's sense of humor could certainly be abrasive, it always seemed like he knew what he was talking about, and there seem to be no end of people who have stories about how he's helped them, often for little or no gain to himself. If that's a person who deserves to be banned from posting, I'm certainly confused by it. I for one found his posts to be educational, funny, or both. That seems to me to be the very definition of a valuable member of the community. Hopefully when/if this ban is lifted, he won't be too offended by the whole thing to come back and educate us all again.

I think we need to e-lynch the whiners, then bring Henry back and give him moderator privileges. It's petition time. Please add signatures to this post to "save Henry".

Henry has contributed a lot of time to this board and has helped countless DIYers over the years. He does all my engine work for me and he is always willing to help. This board will lose a lot without his input. It is individuals like Henry, Camgrinder, Grady, John, and a few others that have helped all of us more than once. I sure hope Wayne reconsiders this. Cheers

As a newbie, I enjoy Henry's participation. What exactly was the problem? Was it that thread about the "long history"? Plus, Henry let's you know what you need, and it makes me want to buy something from Pelican, and it makes my car either better or safer.

The whiners need to go whine somewhere else, a bar is a good place for whining. Henry has provided so many answers and great points on building/rebuilding Porsche engines, there are only a couple of builders that come to mind in this league. We all know who they are. Want to talk abrasive now LorenFB tops the list he did get a little slap on the wrist for attacking posters, not a good thing. I had the pleasure of that happening to me. I didn't go whining about it and it ended up being a very informative thread despite the initial intent to discredit me. My support goes to Henry on this one and If Henry is banned Snow should be right there with him. Takes two to Tango.

I am most definite that I lurk the Rebuild Forum for Henry's posts. I actually spoke to him on the phone and did not find anything wrong with the Dude. He was actually honest and straightforward.

Good grief guys... go over to pirate (www.pirate4x4.com) now those are some flame fests. They eat people for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would not want to see this place like that but this is just too far the other way...

In my opinion Henry is one of the top technical contributors here.
Maybe Wayne should of slapped his hand if Wayne felt a repramand was in order. BUT, whiners out there "GROW THE F*&^ UP". You dont have to read/follow this board. If Henry needed a time out that is Wayne's call...his board, company and rules. OK, time out over. NOW, everyone get along here...voice your factual opinions and get on with it. The loss of Henry and his caliber type will certainly slow me down if not stop me in my tracks on my tech q's and tweeked engine projects!! I VOTE FOR HENRY BACK (IF HE WILL RETURN) SO TO GREATLY BENEFIT THE PORSCHE COMMUNITY THAT YOU, ME AND HENRY ARE ALL VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob

For sure Henry has major high-level of tech expertize, i became a member on this forum for a few months ago.
I was very wondered about a lot of very nice people (like Henry) sharing their knowledge about engine building. I thought this kind of things only happen on forums here in Europe where the people are to greedy about sharing their knowledge. I think its a shame that a college like Henry is being Banned on this forum. All sorts of people are different and you have to deal with it thats why this forum is has so much information for all kinds of people. If you don't like some one then don't respond on them, thats my motto. I even think their is no competition going on between different engine builders, they help each other out whit all kind of problems. In Europe there are no forums like these where company's help each other out on a forum. So Wayne, give this guy a break and let him do his thing on this forum, and ban the whiners. This is my opinion for what its worth!! ![]()

You get me vote to reinstate Henry I did read all post of the mentioned debate about the rods and thought they both made valid arguments. But I like most others read post by Henry, Wayne and supertech and rarely doubt there experience or their intelligence but Wayne to ban Henry one would have to consider your intelligence. I see critersizem as a learning tool if I don’t see a mistake and no one points it out how do we get it right.

I too am shocked about Henry getting banned (if that is true). I lurk here too often, mostly just to read Henry’s posts. This forum is the only reason I decided to rebuild my own engine, and I buy all my parts from Pelican to help support it. Lately I have been surprised at the attacks on Henry, and have wondered how he puts up with them. Henry must have a thick skin to keep coming back after all the abuse he has taken. With all the knowledge and experience he has, it must be very insulting to have his observations and real world testing questioned and rebuked as often as they are. I vote to have Henry reinstated – and hope for this forum’s sake, he will agree to come back to offer his insight, humor, and personality that make the Engine Rebuilding Forum worth reading.

Whatever the deal is with Henry, please bring him back. I cannot imagine that he could every do anything that whould be so sinister that it could outweigh his substantial contributions to this BBS and the Porsche community. If not for Henry's help, I would be driving a Toyota instead of a hot-rodded midyear.
