				Carrera Tensioner spacers (?)

I've been looking through previous threads on this topic and can't find a definitive answer whether carrera chain tensioner spacers are used on my model. I can't remember if one goes at the location shown below or not. It seems like something should go in this location. This is an '82/3.0L Thanks in advance for your responses. Eric J.

The spacers are only used when you have the early style "narrow" idler arms. The idler arms in your picture are the later style and don't require a spacer

when I assembled my engine I made spacers and installed because I didn't like the large fore and aft play - was on a 89 3.2 motor. I checked the play and spaced to still leave some remaining play. My memory is that the play was on the order of +/- 1-2mm or more. I was thinking the the chain would move forward and out of line during braking.

Here's what Supertec did the remedy the spacer issue. Full width bronze bushing.

Henry, I like that solution, more bearing area and shimming. -Henry | ||

They are half the price as factory Carrera arms too.
