Fitting 901.105.361.01

Guys,

This fitting feeds the cam housings from the sump. It has an orifice in it to prevent oil from frothing.

During the turbo era, Porsche changed the orifice size to stop oil frothing. By reducing the orifice, idle oil pressure increased.

Has anyone used the new PN in their engine and what results have you had?

Thanks
Dom

Dom,

I just installed the cam oil line restrictors in my 74 911S along with the pressure
fed tensioners. Gave me approx. 10-15 PSI increase in overal engine oil pressure.

I would not use them in my engine. The increased pressure on the gauge makes you feel good but just masks any problems with low oil pressure- worn bearings, etc.

Oil restricrors revisit

cam oil line Restrictor/Adapter

Anyone used the oil restrictors ??

Cam tower restrictors - Good for break in?

We use them on every engine we build and have zero negative feed back.
Most negative impressions are based in theory not actual use.
Perhaps 200 engine built by Supertec that all used cam feed restrictors.
Every 3.6 based Porsche engine has restricted oil feed to the cam towers when flow rates are compared to earlier engines.
We made cam feed restrictors back in the mid 80s some 5 or 6 years prior to Porsche installing them on the 91-92 Turbo engines. These restrictors were used on race, turbo and street engines some of which have been documented at over 240,000 miles.
We warranty every engine we build and see no reason to change after twenty plus years of use.

YMMV

Thanks guys, the restrictors are for use in normally aspirated engines, a 2.0E and a 2,7 RS. As Henry noted, I don't think there should be a problem.

Best to all
Dom
