The pump on the 1-2-3 cam is for the turbo? Not a part I know so I had to ask.
|
Yes, its the scavenge pump for the turbo since its drainage sump is lower than the motor sump. Its connected to the housing for the drive pulley that ran the emission control air pump, which is no longer present.

Slowed Progress due to Red Fish!
Okay, I just remembered I have a project in the garage and will get back to it soon, but since the Redfish have shown up in the Tampa Bay, FL area it's hard to pass up taking my little red boat instead of wrenching in a hot garage:rolleyes:

If memory serves me correctly you might need to cut some custom gaskets for between the blocks and the head since the factory ones don't cover the smaller area over the injector cutout on the 930 heads.

Perhaps a little exacto-blade customization of the stock 930 gaskets with a little triple bond back up might do the trick.

Its nice to see you've already progressed up to the intakes in such a reasonable amount of time.
I put a lot of time and effort, not to mention milling and grinding, to make those ports line up like that so its nice to see it finally paying off for ya. ;) |
Carrera Intake Manifold Fitment

thanks
Gosh.. in this age of detached, slipshod work it's truly a pleasure to see something done properly and with relish. Thanks for sharing the journey and the reminder that someone else does ***** correctly.

As far as I'm concerned if you can do it right then you prolly shouldn't do it at all, especially when you're talking about one of the sweetest rides ever built by Porsche! |
Left side pressure line
All I need now is to track down a bracket to support the line and left side tensioner oil pressure line will be done:D

That looks so much better than that anemic looking little 930 manifold ever did, lol.
Have you managed to find a suitable throttle body for it yet? |
Nope, if anybody has a suggestion on a throttle body I'm all ears!
|
Captain,
Our host sells the oil line supports if factory will do. As for the throttle body some nice CNC units on flee bay, will require an adapter plate to mount but nice units in a number of sizes, ball bearing shaft bearings, use an Accura TPS I believe. |
Captain,
Check you messages for the TB. |
