Prove to me that it's possable to

Install rsr shaft seals without shearing them off using the dry method. I feel it's still better that without them but I'm completely confused how you can do it with engine in car.

Why install them dry in the first place? I installed mine oiled and I'm not having an issue. I thought that oiling them was the correct method actually.

use a dab of your flavorit lube...I used silicone..not the type that sets up..

I agree with the silicone treatment. It's good practice to use this goop. Because it not only lubricates the seal but adds additional protection from oil aging. The silicone paste is oil and solvent resistant, so it stands the test of time quite well.

We use Dow 55 Silicone Lubricant on all o-rings on air cooled engines.
The commercial product is Dow Corning 111
