3.2 Intermediate shaft bearings

I recently bought some intermediate shaft bearings from Pelican for a friend. He is building an 86 3.2.

He's built a few engines in the past so he knows what he's doing.

I got him Porsche factory bearings:
99610113780
99610143570

He said that on installation, the bearing shells stood proud not allowing the case to come together.

Pelican catalog says these are the right bearings.

Any thoughts?

I found if I move the intermediate shaft or crank when putting the 2 halves together the intermediate bearing can move off location.
I just happened once several months ago but it kept me from closing.
