As a machinist I can tell you that the tooth cut may NOT be the same even though the thread is still right hand. Follow the book and it doesn't become an issue.

Thanks for the clarification. I figured it had something to do with the cut/profile of the teeth and not the direction of them. Wasn't trying to defy the book or make things more difficult. Just looking for a definitive reason regarding the orientation of the gear.
