Making candy out of old parts

In search of restoration excellence we are in the process of colorizing mag and aluminum parts to restore them to their past glory. We are still in the experimental stage but things are looking promising.

At this point, I'm not ready to share the process but I will tell you that it is none of the processes listed above.

I like the fan, as I am not a fan of painting them or their housings. The carbs look great also, although they won't work for strict concours. Will this process retain that look longer than the stock parts stay the same after soda blasting or the like?
