				Camshaft options for 3.0 w/carbs?

Would like some suggestions on a hotter cam for weekend/autox SC.

Single plug , 9.5 JE pistons (with valve reliefs) and Webers. I have 964 cams in there now but perhaps theres other options since I ditched the CIS. Thanks

Quite a few options out there with those pistons.

What sort of RPM do you want to rev it to? You want a peaky motor or one with a wide power band? Midrange torque or top end HP? Cheers

				Give John A Call

I have a similar setup and called John Dougherty to get a recommendation. Dougherty Racing Cams

I told John my engine specs and use (street) and that I wanted to increase my lower RPM torque - he recommended his GT2-102 cams. I'm satisfied (I've spun the wheels accelerating in a straight line grabbing 2nd gear...). Equally important, consider what you want to do with your ignition - if you haven't had the advance adjusted for carbs, do that first. I used the Electromotive Xdi and have found major performance differences in how I adjust my initial timing. Here's some info on my engine and carb tuning: Gordo's PMO Carb Tuning Good luck, Gordo

Car is used mainly for autocross with some street driving so I would appreciate a wider power band and midrange torque ,car has stock valve train. not looking for a peaky engine. Ignition is already sorted with JBracing (single plug) mechanical advance distributor and MSD It is my understanding that John D no longer answers his phone or something but maybe that's changed? He did do my current 964 cams but that was some years ago. Appreciate suggestions thanks

The engine is fairly low compression so I would run something like a GE / DC40 (Mod "S") or even a slightly more aggressive GE/ DC60. John @ DC cams is my "go to guy" for cam grinder but Elgin or Web can also grind these specs.
