Most ? I would say all.
They just do not hold their shape .
However i wonder after their first shake dwn they stay the same for awhile ?

I don't disagree but I'm only an enthusiast, not a guru of any sort. I was hedging cuz there's almost always someone who'll come back and say their case didn't need machining. This engine may be in that camp.

I'm waiting for pictures of the main bearings.

I had a 914/6 with cast iron cylinders lock up out of the car because the cylinders went dry.

Looks like it was the oil pump. I don't have much info yet except engine turned after the pump was removed
He also found that the previous rebuild was poor and the barrels are scoured. So looks like a decent amount of work will be needed

I would have him show pics and especially that crushed oil return line.

Are we sure he did not crush it and some how damaged the pump on the engine drop?
