Just the heads? Or new rings, etc.? Think 1st valve adjust is ~ 1100 miles.

Mine was run on the dyno, so I didn't do the first interval which I think is 100 miles. I did a 500 mile change. I'm also changing mine while I do my after break-in valve adjust, but that is mostly because it's taken me a year to drive ~ 1100 miles. All things being relative, oil is cheap (even the good stuff).

I would crack her open to make sure all is fine way before that. Heck, it is only little oil loss and valve cover gaskets, if that.
Then 1000-1100 miles later do the valve adjust, check torque of rocker shafts and oil change. Do a partial drop and remove cat/bypass if you want easier access. ( I personally hate adjusting valves with engine in the car but a partial drop is easier, removal is of course better )
