Help to Identify these Pauter Rods
I have this set of Pauter rods in my parts stash and I am not sure which application they are for. They are stamped 911 but they do not seem to fit with any of the 911 rod dimensions in the Pauter catalog. Each big end has the 911 stamp on one side while the other side is marked W1 through W6
Here are the measurements: big end ID - 58 mm small end ID - 22 mm big end center-to-small end center length - 127 mm weight with bolts and nuts - 570 grams If I had to guess, I would say they are for use with a 3.2/3.3/3.6 crank and pistons using a 22 mm wrist pin. Anyone else have any ideas? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Tom,
I agree with your guess. Would seem like they're a set of rods that could be used with a typical 74.4 or 76.4 crank and simple custom pistons like say for instance a JE FSR with 22mm pins to make the assembly lighter. The only thing custom about the pistons would be the pin size. Everything else could be original Porsche specs. That set is going to be a bit old since the stamps on them would indicate their age. Newer Pauters have what looks like laser engraving on them.

knock offs of both Carillo and Pauter are sold on eBay in this configuration. People bring them in all the time for builds not having realized the specs are wrong (22mm wrist pin) and think that they've outsmarted everyone and gotten an eBay bargain. I've seen them sold as CX Racing and a customer even had me order a set of Pistons to work with them in a 3.4, 74.4 build.

Are they shot peened? If not, that would be an indicator of the knockoffs that SoyRacer mentioned. All the real Pauter rods are shot peened.
