Will the JE 98mm piston rings work with Max Moritz pistons?
As the title says, I see Pelican offers 98mm JE piston rings for cheaper than I paid for TotalSeal conventional rings for my FLATTOP Max Moritz pistons.
Will these work? I assume yes, but wanted to confirm. PN: JE-612U6-3858 Wanted to order soon, or I would have measured everything to confirm. TIA

I think you will have to machine the pistons unless they already use the same size rings,
Max Moritz 98mm pistons which I had in the past used a ring pack which is 1.2 x 1.2 x 3.0mm and it is difficult to find rings to suit. The Mahle Motorsport version of this piston uses a 1.0 x 1. x 2.0 mm ring pack. I think JE use NPR Rings which are good. |

I don't have flat tops, but I was cracking rings on my 100mm with rings that came with my JE 9.5:1,
single plug hemi head location and 8 psi boost don't help, lol. I had Total Seal figure out what I needed, they were worth every penny and the tech support was great.

Yeah, I'll have to go TotalSeal again, then.

I would measure the piston just to sure of the ring sizes.

I have a most complete set low mileage Mahle, I think there was one broken in the set.
I had to buy a full set of totalseal for the one broken OE Bruce |

Reviving an old thread since I'm currently doing a top-end rebuild on my 3.2 Max Moritz conversion.
I'm at the least page of the internet, and found nothing yet?! Did you guys find the piston rings anywhere or do I order from Total Seal? Thanks! |

Nux,
I would give EBS Racing a call. They will be able to give you the scoop on the rings for your pistons.

I only started the thread because I saw the JE rings are much cheaper than my custom TotalSeal's I got from EBS.
