help with center console disassembly on 323i

Hi
can anyone give me directions for disassembling the center console on a 2000 323i automatic? the PRNDL indicator in my friend's car is misaligned and i need to get at it so i can convince it to properly indicate which gear is selected.
thanks

Bryan,

If you are refering to the automatic stick shift counsel, slide a cedit card in between the flat plastic boot and the frame of the center cover counsel and it will pop it easy. Using a plastic card will help prevent any damage around the plastic. This will give you access to the shift stick underneath.

I do not even look at the shift gear but instead at the gauge cluster which tells you what gear your in anway at the bottom right corner.
