I'm bumming in a big way! I would love a set of the black double bolt, but am tapped out with all the engine work I have been doing to resurrect my first and only S. I'm going to see what I can do. Have the orders gone in yet?

Sam, Mike will be starting on them this week. Anyone that wants parts by Christmas will probably have to be in by the end of the week. Mike certainly will have no problem running more parts for a later delivery time but they will need to be batched in a minimum number of ten sets at a time to get these prices.

I'm thinking about listing a few single bolt sets on eBAy for around $575 a set to get the number of sets up for another run of parts. That way I could also make just enough profit to bag myself another double top clamp to try out too and have one left over to sit on my desk. If you buy them here you would of course be able to get them for the price I posted earlier in this thread still. I'll talk with Mike tomorrow and get an update on the schedule. I may have to ask for a down payment from everyone if the list gets any bigger to cover more materials and a bit of my arse if I end up with extras.

yeah, 10 seems to be the magical number, even when i did the aprilia project. your works are turning out very nicely, indeed.

EZ, I'll put you down for a single bolt set. All sets are going to be black anodized to get a batch price. If you want a clear anodize over a hand brushed or sandblasted surface it will be a minimum of $50 extra and may come in later than the other sets. The other option you may want to consider is an unfinished raw aluminum. These parts are going to be machined from 6061-T6 aluminum so they will have good corrosion resistance if you wanted to polish them out. This option will also take $15 off for no finish.

After getting an update from Mike, and a few more orders coming in over the last four days there there can not be any guarantee these parts can be delivered by Christmas. It is a feasible target date at this time but there are too many variables that might cause a delay in the process. I will keep everyone updated on the delivery date if anything changes between now and then. Material for 14 sets is being ordered today and parts will likely be started early next week. Any more orders after this may be a week or so later delivery date.

Rapidog, I'm having Mike get individual piece quotes for me if you want just a top clamp. Anyone that is wanting to have their barbacks black anodized along with their clamp sets can ship them directly to Mike before he has the tripleclamps anodized. In order not to hold up the whole schedule they will need to be in his hands within two weeks from today. Email me for his shipping address.

repoe, thanks.

Let me suggest to those of you mounting barbacks on your spiffy new CNC clamps, make a gasket of some sort out of tape or other material for the bottom face of the barbacks so as to mar the mating surfaces of the two pieces...ya wanna keep your bling all bling-ish!

The beast is devoloping, abeit rather slowly at the present.I,ve made a start making carbonfibre moulds out of foam so i can create a new tank and side fairings. Also the new airbox and ram air ducts are still being sorted. Its been a bit hit and miss affair concerning the moulds/bodywork as yet.But i,m getting there.
Will be getting the telever down to the fabricactor so he can set up a jig to create a new tubular one. Strong and light should be the result.Still loads to do and not enough time/money to do everything at once.Altough i,ve got most of the expensive goodies already bought.I,m not gonna rush.I want it done right and to the highest standard as i can manage.
all the best

Wow Gus I had no idea you were getting that involved in the transformation of your bike. No doubt it is easy to get overwhelmed with the progress. Stick with it and you will end up with a truly great bike when your finished. I agree with EZ, let us know how the tube telelever turns out, you might find several interested buyers here that may help bring down your cost as well. Keep up the good work and look for the light at the end of the tunnel...just make sure it's not the bright white one with yer granny in it

Scott,

Any updated news on these triple clamps? Is the newer design upper available? Please let us know when and how to send money, so you will not be fronting the money too long.

I just sent Mike the last revisions on Tuesday, so he will likely have all the programing done by early next week. I had him make a minor change to the lower clamp to allow for extra clearance between the telelever arm and the top of the lower clamp.

I also sent him an alternate top clamp design that is interchangeable with the original one and is only available as a single bolt design. I showed it to a couple people on the list and decided it might be best not to add any confusion about which clamp to get at this late date....But...since you brought it up Moki...I'll go ahead and show it now. Mike says he will go ahead and program this alternate top clamp design and could probably be convinced to run parts at the same price if there are at least 4-5 people that want it.

This alternate clamp design came about after I had completed the all the original R1100S clamp designs and was playing around with a possible new top clamp for the R1200S. I'm not sure if I'll ever come out with one for the R12S, but I got to pondering how a version of that design might look on the R1100S. I made some changes and tweaks and think it came out pretty interesting looking. You'll definitely notice the R1200S influence in the overall look of the clamp. This clamp is not necessarily any better or stronger than the original clamp and in fact weighs exactly the same. It is merely a different visual style and is 100% the same as the first one in fit and function.

If this top clamp design wets anyones whistle and they want to swap over to it instead of the existing orginal top clamp that is at the shop right now, decide very verry soon since chips are due to fly in the next few days. By introducing this choice the due date for the clamps will probably be delayed by a week so that people can have a chance to make a choice. Again, this clamp will only be available as a single bolt per side version due to it's stepped front surface.

Sorry for the late introduction of this new top clamp choice just when you all probably have a lot more pressing choices to make in mid December. If no one's interested in this design it's no big deal to me and everything will go on a scheduled. Anybody new that wants to come on board because of it is welcome to jump in too. Here ya go...feel free to order both if you just can't decide.

I'll take the new design, if there's enough people interested in it.
