That's some serious zoom, and some really nice sharp pics. Absolutely great job on the sequence too.
I love the shot of the owl tawnting the bird. Thank goondness you had some good phot equipment at hand to capture that. |
Very cool sequence, Brock! You're the sequence master...
A friend came up to Tahoe with his Shelby, but had to leave it here after his coolant reservoir cap didn't hold pressure and it puked out a bunch of coolant. Ever giving person that I am, I traded cars with him so he could return home. Hopefully, it'll take him a while to get back. Today I took a hot lap around the lake, you know, to test the new cap... This seemed like a cool photo op: http://gromitspapa.smugmug.com/photos/154708743-O.jpg Emerald Bay http://gromitspapa.smugmug.com/photos/154708716-O.jpg Waiting for the parking spot to clear. Some people are so inconsiderate. Some aren't. Wish I had Brock's 200-400mm... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1179726207.jpg King's Beach area http://gromitspapa.smugmug.com/photos/154708751-O.jpg http://gromitspapa.smugmug.com/photos/154708757-O.jpg Highway 431 towards Reno http://gromitspapa.smugmug.com/photos/154708768-O.jpg http://onfinite.com/libraries/1178520/79b.jpg |
90 mph and 5100 RPM... pushing the lower gears a little, are we, Steve? ;)
|
Wouldn't be as interesting a pic in 6th gear as it is in 3rd... ;)

I'm torn on those Mustangs. I think I like them, but maybe I've always been a Chevy fan from the old days. That cars got similar paint as the old 69/70 Z-28 Camaro - my personal favorite. Although in the real world of todays vehicles that Z-28 would probably suck. Harsh suspension, 8 mpg...
|
I had a '69 Z-28 for a little while. Orange with white stripes; paint and interior in outstanding condition. I was a teen and didn't look too close. Later on noticed the carpet was loose and peeled it back to see where the roll cage had been bolted in. Checked the engine numbers and found out it was a 283, too. But that sucker was built. Stayed within a few feet of a friend's '70 with a 350 and 4.11 gears through the 1/4 mile. I had 3.73s.

...well, well, well, cars can be fun but these are real Big Boys Toys... :)

Agreed.
I'm curious about the new revamped Camero when it comes out. Not that I'd buy one. I think I want a Corvette someday before I die. |
A ZO6 will scratch that itch.

Nice pics of R1100S in repose and R1200S w/KMax...Mustangs are surely nice but I've never owned a Ford, well an Amercian Ford anyway. What will they follow up with in 5 years?...hopefully not Mustang-II.
