Here's the latest update on the triple clamps.

Over the past couple weeks it seems the interest has peaked at 9 sets ordered so I am going to finalize the number for this run at 12 sets and have Mike get started on them. I am having him make the additional sets, two in black and one in clear, that can be claimed by anyone that wants them.

I spoke with Mike today and he will be putting the triple clamps on his shop schedule as early as the end of next week. It will likely be around three weeks from now that I will be getting the parts in and can start sending them out or swaping ball joints. I have a couple guys so far that will be coming by for a full install too.

I am sending Mike a deposit for half the cost of the order right away so a few more payments would be nice around this time. So far I have three orders paid in full, thanks guys. Here is the latest order list showing the extra three sets that are still available.

No problem Tony. I'm just glad to hear that your track day incident wasn't recent and you will still be able to enjoy the new clamps on your BCR.

Ralf, absolutely! It takes around 2-3 hrs on average to do the install. If you were to come up the night before you are welcome to spend the night at my house and we could get the clamps done by morning. Lots of Pelicans close by too. Maybe we could drag Stage1scott, John Lyon, Tony and Cyndy, or even Jeff Williams and Rabidog out for a nice day ride up hwy33 behind Ojai. Just say the word and pick a finish. I even have a pool you can fall into if you get bored

That was unneccessary and hurt my feelings, deeply, I might add... it's a myth!

HAVE YOU SEEN ANY VISUAL EVIDENCE??? SEE?

I'll let you know... but I think Immagonnagoforit! I'd be one of your leftover black anodized finishes... great Idea, I'd probably ride up there on a Friday night then... just have to figure out which one but that should not be an issue!

These are sweet, just not in the budget. I need the Ohlin's first, maybe next year. I do love the design and can't decide which I like better, probably the anodized.

Ralf, ya I seen way too much already, lol. You seem to fit in amazingly well with the rest of these freaks...and I mean that in a good way Just let me know in the next week or so, or before the last three clamps are spoken for and I'll get you set up.

I just got back from an amazing ride today with a good buddy that rides a VFR800 really well. It was so much fun I think I'm going to upgrade my helmetcamera and shoot some video next time. I'm so jazzed with the bikes handling and performance right now I'm definitely not feeling like repenting any time soon.

Thanks hawkeye. Yes the Ohlins or equivalent are definitely a vital part of the package that have to be considered at some point if you are serious about improving the handling. I put the clamps right up there in terms of gains as well, but doing both at the same time is one big bunch of change. I would look for a deal on some used ohlins and get some clamps with the left over cash...just a thought.

...just count me in! I'll come up and hand you a wad of cash... as you could see in the pics of the tripple crown event, I got smothered with it! Gotta use it for something!

Yes, John... you are right, the gadgetry will never stop! Will you still ride with me after that upgrade?

All right Ralf, I'll put you down for a set. What finish did you want? Hey if your a little short on that cash wad I'm sure you could pick up the rest by doin a little pimpin up here. Show up early though, this town goes to sleep early.

Since I basically posted a deadline for orders by the end of this week, anyone else that wants in needs to let me know before then. I can cover the cost of of up to 2 or 3 extra sets for anyone else that may want in after the run has been started and did not place their order in time. I have already sent Mike a $2800 deposit to order material and get things under way so thanks again for the early payments by a few of you so far.

Man, that would be easy money!

I'd take the black anodized... looks the fastest, I think... and you know how important it is to look fast!

I can PP you money of you need to, let me know

Thank you

Ralf

Ralf, I took a guess and already had you pegged as a dark sided kind of guy so black it is. Since you will be coming up for an install you can just pay me then if you want. I have lots of towels

Ok, I'm going to admit something that I did not reveal on the Yosemite III Crown ride. I had a new front tire put on my bike. (I refuse to state who did it) They guy who put it on took my beautiful wonderfully perfected bike on a test run (ok, ok, they did the service too!). The guy put my bike down on rain slicked city street. He hit two cars and put the new front tire under a SUV. The damage??? A severely cracked front fender, a crack in the ferring (sorry guys I don't know how to spell ferring) and other cosmetic damage. The bill (of course I don't have to pay for it) is about 3K. But why am I posting this on this thread? Because Tony told me that because Scott's clamps, the damage was so much more minimal than if I would have had stock. You guys can guess why. So, man, were these clamps a great investment, not only for this reason but for the performance too!

Fine, Scott, I owe you another drink! Good job!

Wow Cyndy that's not a very nice story. I'm really sorry you had that happen to your beautiful bike. Did those nice PVM wheels get through the wreck ok? I appreciate the good word about the clamps but I'm not really comfortable with the assumption that they are ok. What other damage was there? Are you having to replace the fork legs due to any bending or just gouges? The clamps are designed to be about 3 times more resistant to flexing under load over the stockers, but I did not specifically address any other scenarios like having two cars and an SUV stuffed on top of them.

If there was any structural damage to the front end be absolutely sure everything lines up perfectly on reassembly before assuming everything is ok. I'm not so concerned about any cracks or fractures in the clamps resulting from the crash. However, if a fork upper or lower leg is bent it would have introduced some seriously high loads on either clamp which should be looked at very closely. If you want to be absolutely sure you could always have your insurance buy you a new set of clamps and I could give the old ones a good check up. I'm sure someone here might offer you a fair price on the old ones if they check out fine. Let me know if I can help out with your bike in any way.

Uh...BTW, Jeff I wasn't talking about you I was only thinking of you...

Scott -- wheels are just fine. I believe in hubby's assessment that everything structurally is fine. He went over it with a fine toothed comb. Forks are fine. Other damage was minor scrapes, ie., mirror, cylinder guard, and both sides of cases. The bike, overall is just fine, only cosmetic. I was lucky. Again, the clamps helped the overall situation.

r1100s custom triple clamps-2nd edition

Motoyoyo...is it possible to still be included for a set of triples? I'll check with the bike tonight on its preference for black or silver anodize. I think I prefer silver. What, if anything, is still available at this late date?
Thanks
Harry
