ONE SECOND DOWN? Thats all!!! Bravo BMW, gopher broke guys, anything can and has happened.........get your homework done now so that the Race Test coming up will be more breezy as you answer some final questions. Well done BMW........only 1 tick off today is just a signal of whats to come. Two bikes in the top ten?? Dare I prey? Could it, what if, even?

I'd pray not prey, Jim. This new one lap qualifying will be a make or break. I wonder how long they will keep it.

Aren't they using transponders for their testing? Surely factory teams have their own transponders so they can follow and evaluate data and times! ...or..???

Yeah, you're right!

I think there are a lot to consider when it comes to BMW this early/late in the season.

Early, because it's their first race on the new [maybe not finished] bike and we haven't got any hard data to discuss.

Late, because sometimes I get the feeling that they aren't ready to race with the bike, with new parts coming and so on, still testing.

On the other hand, Troy said a week or two ago that he would be happy racing the bike as it is.

So I recon this S1000RR malarkey is anybodys guess, at the moment. Sunday will be exciting, that's for sure!

The start positions should be set in stone in about 6 or 7 hours.

It was a bit of a surprise to see Mad max go so fast right at the end of the session. Honda, Aprilia, private Dook, works Dook, BMW!
The pit is a picture of German order and efficiency... sorry that the phone pic is a bit furry.

PS The BMWs sound like the rest of the fours, the Aprilia does not sound lumpy like the old Honda V4s but the big-bang R1 sounds like SEX!!!!!

Yes, when the bike is being put out to pasture. These Beemers and every other bike on that track are going to be developed all season. There is always room for improvement and they'll always be seasching to get better. To say "thats it" and then sit on their laurels would be a complete waste for everyone involved. It will never happen. I thought you said you watch a lot of MotoGP? They bring out new bits with 2 rounds to go in the season. Development never stops.

You miss my point George. I understand what you're saying, but the race configuration should be stable for the final practice and qualifying unless its critical. There are enough variables for the driver as it is. I believe that once you get the bike within a second the drivers skill and familiarity with the bikes performance will take it the rest of the way.

WHAT THE HELL are you talking about, Bubba? 1 second is A WORLD of a difference in this league... You need to do your math... IT IS 1 SECOND PER LAP!!!

The race configuration should be stable? NOOOOOO, REALLY? WOW... did you come up with that one all by yourself? THAT IS REALLY BRILLIANT...

The race bike was STABLE a long time ago... you think they would go and send their riders into a race environment with an unstable bike? That would not just be endangering their riders, it would potentially endanger other riders as well...

they have a lot of catching up to do. this is how it has to be. Corser may be able to put in a flyer, but if the bike was ready, then Xaus would be there too. his struggling proves that the bike isn't close yet.

signman, overreact much?

Maybe, but then again, this is Corsers home track! That may have something to do with it as well!?

I just took a tour of PI on Google Earth. Pretty cool place indeed, although when I first searched I only used one "l" and it took me out into the Pacific somewhere. Glad to be home.

Just pulling Bubba's leg, George...

I am just as excited as he is that the season is upon us... should be a good one!

Ralf, there you go flying off the mouth again. You drinking again? Or do you not read the interviews with the drivers? I never said the bike was unstable. I said stabilize maco changes.

Is it 0450 CET?

He's got that unproven bike closer than I thought to his white hot 1'31.826 record. Maybe, just maybe he could surprise us all and bring it home.
BMW,AG would crap their pants if he gets on the second row.

They're out on the track Rea is flying
