I bought it.......But who ships best from Darlington. MD to N. FL.
Who knows why us BMW collectors can move so quickly if some boxer, minding it's own business somewhere, catches our eye. I just bought a 99 R11S on E-Bay and now need to get some advise of shippers our collective forum brothers know to be good, careful, on time, and not so pricey that its adds 10% to the price. E Bay bid number 321048285146 if some of you other R11S fans care to take a look. Thanks in advance for some suggestions as to a bike shipper, enclosed van type, that you have had experience with.......and any pros and cons.

Anyone know about Keyboard Motorcycle Shipping out of KY.? I will check out Ralf's suggestion as well, but the first thing U-Ship wants to know is if it is a E-Bay item and if it is they want to tie their charge to your E-Bay purchase. Not sure about that service.........

Dr. I used Keyboard to get my S from Kansas to Jacksonville. Price was right in line with others. Bike arrived the day they promised. In good shape zero damage. Young driver very nice and was efficient yet very carefully unloading the bike. Very happy with the service.

Keyboard brought my HP2S to me from Jacksonville. they scheduled me quickly and no issues with the delivery. I would use them again.

JC Motorcycle Shippers have done 2 bikes for me.
One from New Mexico to Washington, and the other from New Brunswick to British Columbia. I was happy with the results. Cheers

I used Keyboard once and JC Motorcycle Shippers once. No issues either time. Wouldn't hesitate to use either again.

Keyboard did a great job getting my 12s to me - Jacksonville to Philly. Their method of securing the bike is top notch. Price was reasonable.

Very helpful guys! The bike I got is kinda unusual, having a combination of add on to a R11S that I have not seen. Only one other person bid and I am only hoping the bike does not have other issues. Knowing about these shippers is very helpful.
Any others out there looking for the older R11S bikes from 99? Just curious, as I still think of them as being one of the best all around bikes BMW ever produced. |

Fly up and ride it home. Fun little trip. Just have some warm clothes. The cool thing is you can shed clothes as you get further south. Nice bike by the way. Good luck with it.

Great to hear from you Mike! Thanks for the tip on your friend and please do send me any info on meeting him. The pick up point is very easy and mid way between the I-95 and I-81 corridors. Small town, easy to find. Thanks for looking at the bike Mike.......I had not ever seen one just like it.......what with all the little extras and such. May have paid too much but what a nice looking packet with tiny rear blinkers, rear wheel hubcap, lockable oil plug, full length belly pan, rear hugger, carbon fiber valve covers, trunk type Corbin seat and rear shell, performance pipes, ABS, canister relocation, low miles, and trick paint. Can't wait to see if it actually cranks!

Nice purchase Jim. I have a '99 also, with a few similar farkles. Have just added a comfort shield with a Laminar Lip, which is working out really well for winter riding here in the CA, and I agree that it is a fantastic all around bike. I really like mine.

I looked at the ebay pics and it looks like it had a good PO, appears to be in great shape. I do want to ask though, what the hell is a lockable oil plug?

Funny, now you said it, I looked on craigslist and there are quite a few of them for sale here... from about $2500 to $4500... 20K miles up to 45K.

Fly and ride. I rode my first GS from Fairfax, VA to Jacksonville in torrential rain for most of the way. Return fight cost $79 to Dulles.

I used Haul Bikes for my R1100S. Shipped from MA (I believe) to Oklahoma. They were very well equipped and professional.
