OT-50s car game
Someone sent me this game and our mature S riders should know the answers. Sadly I scored well, 92%, which puts me in that group.

...elica rossa...

...I grew up with (European) cars like Opel Kadett or Opel Ascona, Volkswagen Kever, Fiat 124, Lada 1200, and all that 'great' stuff...
...so, a 69% procent score isn't that bad I think...

Seeing how was neither born, nor did I grew up here... I figured that 50% is OK...
I did, however, score nearly every chevy question right... go figure!

At one time in my early school days, I was student of car design, so was quite familiar with most designs from the post-WWII era up through the mid-70's. Taking this quiz reminded me of some seminar comments by Alex Tremulis (who had worked at Cord, Duesenberg, Tucker, GM and Ford). What he saw coming at the time was all of the brands sort of losing their corporate identity as most car design was evolving pretty much along the same lines. I think the 50's models were so distinct with buckets of chrome, fins, and other accoutrements. I started drawing cars around the age of 10, and most of those were 50's models...so the quiz was sort of easy as a result. But fun!

I remember September was a big deal when all the new models came out.

Yeah, I remember that pretty well too...my best friend's dad while I was in High School was the sales manager at our local Chevy store. The new models were shipped covered, I recall going down with them late at night to take the wrappings off the new models...especially of interest was the '63 Stingray Coupe in red...
I'd tell you how I reacted, but it would be mui embarrassing! LOL ![]() Cheers! Bill |

i scored so low my mouse laughed at me.
give me taillights/rear fender or an instrument pod from a motorcycle and i betcha i'd do mucho better. based on the results, i'm a dismal car guy. ...and i'm okay with that. |

83%, embarrassed also. The big event for me and my best friend in '56 was being taken to the car show at the DC Armory. We spent a lot of time looking for, and betting on, the location of the (I think it was Cadillac, under a tail fin?) gas cap ... so I guess we missed the Chrysler pavilion....

oneye-
Oh the memories. Growing up we had a '50 Cadillac Coupe. I always thought the gas cap/tail light was way cool and very sturdy. I think my step-father had issues. At one point we had the Caddy in the garage with his Triumph drag-bike and Ariel Square Four. In the driveway was his Model A hotrod w/V8 flathead and my mom's '57 Ranchero. Parked along the curb was a Model A truck, '56 Olds and my brother's Model A. All those rides and I was not old enough to drive.
