Back home!
2 days of playing in the local curves was a hoot. Weather was fantastic... It stayed in the 80's. No rain.. No tickets... Just lots of roads and very little traffic. Highway 19 in Missouri had zero traffic, and it was a blast. Missouri has rolling hills, and some of the dips are like a gravity cavity, pushing your helmet down into the tank... Lots of rolling curves that are better than you could get on a roller coaster. Here are a few pics. The really good parts where there is a canopy of trees over the road.... I was too busy riding to take any shots... But those of you that have ridden the Ozarks, know how good it can be.

Us on Mt Magazine taken by a cyclist, that just pedaled up the mountain.

Random shots of Bill 2.0

Basically nothing but 20-40 mph curves, that are so nice to ride at 60-80... for two days of riding.

Couldn't have asked for a nice way to enjoy getting my R1100S back. And best of all the riding position seems to help my lower back pain go away... So now whenever my back starts hurting, I will have to go for a ride...

So,
You're GLAD you got your bike back!

The latest and greatest is fun, don't get me wrong because I like new stuff, but there's just something about these donkeys...

Sorry if my communication skills are lacking.

Yes glad I got it back. However I am saving money and space for a Ducati 848, but it would not be for multi-day trips like this one... My wife gets it though. She understands that motorcycles are like shoes. Different occasions require different bikes... Which is how I explain to myself, why I just bought a Kawasaki 1600 Nomad... Not sure when I will ride it though. Probably use it to ride her up to the Petit Jean State Park Lodge 20 miles from here to eat supper, and watch the sun set... But back on topic to the R1100S

Sometimes our generation and aging technology can lock us into a certain motorcycle.. look at all the old guys on airheads at rally's... They just seem to fit with those bikes.
We saw a really old guy roll into Paonia on a S1000RR... all his old guy buddies were drooling... But he just looked out of place on the bike. I guess I need to start buying up new old stock of oilhead parts so I can keep the R1100S flying for the next 20 years...

Not sure what he eats Tom.. He moved out when he was 19… He is doing well in school, Business/Finance degree. and is working corporate level as operations manager, part time, and helping a growing restaurant chain go franchise . He has been pretty much self sufficient. The CEO/owner told him he would pay for his masters if he stayed with the company, so I don't have any financial leverage in his life.. When I see him, it's because he actually wants to spend time with me.
I see him drinking protein shakes… and hear rumors he spends his free time at the gym… But I think he knows better than tangle with his old man.. but some of that is th element of fear from when he was just a little tyke.

I always said it is a very fine line between fear and respect, when it comes to the parent-child relationship

Pretty sure you know I am joking regarding my kid being afraid of me, Richard

If you really love them and they know it… they have nothing to fear.

My kids "feared" my 5'1" wife more than they did my 6'1" stature. Fear runs the gamut, and includes the fear of letting others down, especially those that love you. Fear of physical repercussions was done by the age we stopped spanking their butts.

Your right Brad, my big-ass german girl does block the view of these fine creatures. I am not an animal expert so I'll just call them pigmy donkeys. Never seen the little guys before. Had to coast up to them as the throaty roar of the stock exhaust made them run away.

Thanks to Sergio… Bill 2.0 now has HID on his bike too.

Removing of the Tupperware.

Adding some velcro

Zip ties to hold things in place.

This is the hi beam ballast mounted to the spot where the fuse holder was. Remounted the fuse holder in front of the ballast, so there is clearance for the fresh air duct on the left side.

Everything mounted, reinstalling the plastic.

Low beam…. The nice thing about HID on the R1100S is the reflector in the headlamp housing is designed so it won't blind oncoming traffic unlike so many HID upgrades. There is a definite cut off of light across the top.

and Hi beam… which will cook the bugs so they just make dust when hitting your windshield.
