Howdy Pelican! We're have a lot of trouble pulling the lower control arms down in figure 8. Any tips? We've removed the bolts and as far as we can tell followed the rest of guide verbatim.

The ball joint is likely rusted and seized in the hole. Try tapping it with a soft-faced hammer to release it. Then you can pry it out slowly, working each side until it comes out.

A good suggestion! We ended up giving it a few good whacks with a block of wood and bigger hammer.
The clutch had been replaced before and I assume the last person to do it used a chisel or something by the looks of it. Whatever the previous person did left mushrooms that rusted and locked it together good. Filed it down as best we could and put it on the 'should be replaced' list. Some of the markings were from us trying the same thing previous guy did. Here is the worse one: ![]() |
