A stroke addled voice from the past...How's everybody doing?
Hi, guys. Haven't been around lately since my stroke back in 2013. Still dragging a dead leg around and it pretty much had to retire from practicing law due to the brain damage. Let's call it what it is. LOL
I've jumped back on my Pcar project. With it all lowered and stiff I couldn't get in and out of it anymore. Still have a residual partial function on my left side but at least I'm on the right side of the daisies. Purist beware I've decided to complete my post stroke project of converting my 911 to a paris-dakar pose weekend warrior. If I don't fit the car that I'll make the car fit me. Not doing anything that is irreversible, and not giving a damn that these cars are commanding stupid money. I'll let my state worry about that crap. Meanwhile I'm going to enjoy my old car if I ever finish it. And for the record I talked in here about that long before the current Safari fad. LOL I popped into the technical side with a few questions, and I must ask this. Has the tenor and mood of this place changed? Used to be mostly pretty level-headed people that enjoy life. Maybe it's Wayne retiring or whatever's going on but there's a lot of folks that know the price of everything and the value of nothing. Or is it me?

Welcome the F back.
You have been missed. Sincerely. Seems things started going to **** around the time you took a hiatus so maybe it's all your fault?

Welcome back man, there are a lot of people here that care.
As for if you feel it changed, well, the world is what you make of it. Replies breed replies. You can influence a forum like this to be what you want. ![]()

Yea, welcome back.
We all want to hear the rest of the story about the adventure in the big easy. Thinks have change in tech. There are more internet experts that have opinions because of what they read somewhere else. Still a few good resources.

Glad to have you back sir.
Don't be shy about getting a tiptronic. I'm able bodied and will never own a manual again. I love them.

Welcome back. But you really should use the pickup truck for hauling tree limbs.

Oh boy Jim, so good to have you touch back in!
Glad to hear that you survived the stroke somewhat functionally. Many of us here have had our lumps too. I'm single now, bailed from paradise and living in Fl. Panhandle. Next time I swing by your way I'm definitely stopping in for a visit. Capt'n Ahab croaked about a year ago, and was brought back by his wife trying CPR for the first time. Tabs is still forecasting doom, any time now. And plenty other pelican happenings for you to catch up on, I'll let other help fill you in further. In the mean time, lots of us are waiting for the next installment of your last tale of adventure and antics in N O. Some refresh may be called for. Good plan on makeing your 911 a fit for you. Is that Vette still in the works. Welcome back Brother, you have been missed. Cheers Richard |

Jim, I noticed your technical post the other day and didn't step up and welcome back the "stranger." Well, I'll do that now - Welcome back!
The mood of the place hasn't changed much for most of us old-timers. Some have gone their own way, but many others are still around, offering technical advice as solid as always.
