My point? I see that as a perfect opportunity to take an action that's counter to the current social temp we hear so much about.

Exactly. How hard is it to be polite and make everyone's day just a wee bit better?

I have a feeling the nearest Del Taco is 2000 miles away. I spent a month in rural Mexico and Taco Bell is better than some of the stuff they serve - and much more boring than some of the other food. In China (a town in northeastern Mexico) I had some pazole made with goat meat that was incredible. All of the roadside carne asada I has was god awful -like BBQed leather.

That was basically the issue with the guy. There were two lines with several people in each one. The cashier in our line was standing there looking at several feet of empty floor in front of him. SOMEBODY was going to step up and order. I figured it was basically me or one of the people in the other line.
