Absurd. Want One.

Buying crazy-ass-fancy pickemups seems to be a rite of passage in men of a certain age around where I live. As I have attained said age, I'm prone to catching the fever. This thing is feakin' incredible. 2019 Ram 1500 Limited Crew Cab 4x4 Test Drive Review: A Noble Steed With the Fanciest of Trimmings - The Drive

My business trucks were all Fords, but I had a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the hemi that was my DD. It was a sweetheart, with a great engine, and towed my car trailer just fine. But around 80K miles it began to suffer what I call MOPAR disease. The seat leather cracked. Parts, mostly trim, started to fall off. Loved it, though.

Though I can't see paying $68K for a pick up, this one is mighty cool.

$68k and that's not even the top of the line??? No wonder people in the US are up to their eyeballs in debt.

They are nice, like you, I can't justify that kind of moola for a truck

A friend has a 2018 diesel truck like it and he just came back from Baja 1000. He used it a a chase truck to help his friend. I like to see what kind of damage he's done to it. Last time he did that down there, he broke an Allison transmission on his Duramax.

68K for a truck
I mean, it's a pickup truck
a Dodge pickup truck

Don't get me wrong, i'de like to have a pickup truck, but when i think of one, this is what comes to mind, preferably very cheap.. unfortunately most seem to have been hauled off to Africa

You know, a pickup truck... durable cheap, un complicated

I bought a full-size truck in 2007. I'm still driving it, but I've decided that my next truck will be a "small" one.

I've always been fascinated that if someone has a $70k Boxster parked in their driveway, everyone thinks they're rich, but if they have a $70k truck, no one blinks.

One of my friends is a professional welder. He works for himself, building custom trailers for a Oklahoma company to fit the needs of the piece of equipment it hauls. Anyway he has a F-350 that is his work truck. He often pulls one of his trailers to deliver it, and lots of welding supplies. He paid a little over 85K for it. Damn nice pickup, but crazy money. He trades it in every three years at a maximum.

I love my $2000 '01 Tundra with 213K miles. You can do anything to it, with it. In 50K miles nothing has broken. You can hit it with a sledge hammer by mistake and it looks a little better. Drives like a car, tows 911s with ease.

Don't understand the men's line of jewelry and purse trucks today.

I have a $45K F-250 Lariat. Gas engine (saved $12K), Super-Cab (Saved $3K). Very very nice inside, better than my wife's BMW.

You can get a "work" F-250 XL for quite a bit less, especially if you do not buy 4WD.

That's a good way to put it. Around here, they are usually driven by guys 65-75, and they are so spotess you know they aren't used for work. But still, I like them. Makes no sense, I know. No plan to buy one, though.

My next truck will be along the lines of your Tundra--bare bones. In 2013, I bought a new 2013 Ford F150 for my business that was $24K out the door, including tax, at a time when a fancy upper end F150 was going for double that. It had interior by Tupperware, roll up windows, the 3.7 V-6--primitive. When I sold the biz this year it had 135K miles, had never missed a beat, and needed only brakes and oil changes (done by me). And it survived at the hands of my technicians, who were uniquely talented at breaking things. Probably got another 135K in it.

After that we switched to Ford Transit vans. Another vehicle I really like.

I’ve been driving a truck for work the last 28 years. Started with an 87 Nissan king cab and now have a 2014 Ford F-150 Screw.

My last truck was a 2001 F150 Screw. Traded it in for the 2014 with 225k on the clock. One trans rebuild, one alternator and one fuel pump besides filters and brakes. Great truck.

I expect that my ‘14 F150 2WD Screw with the 5.0 will be just as good and I’ll keep it just as long. It has all the bells and whistles I need and already has 100k on the. clock now.

They’ve all been used to haul dirt, lumber, tools etc and take the family of four on trips out of town.

I'm on my second new pick up in the last 4 years, both were ~$45k. Traded the 1st after 4 years only because I downsized from a 1/2 ton to a mid-sized. I don't use my pick up for "work" but I definitely use my trucks to haul crap and tow. I've tried to live without a pick-up twice (bought a station wagon both times). It never lasts, and I won't be without a pick up ever again. They are definitely expensive vehicles when nicely optioned, but these modern pick-ups are as quiet and as comfortable as a luxury sedan at this point.

Trucks are the E class of a couple decades ago. Luxury cars have evolved to have four wheel drive and a bed.

If you want something that has lots of room these work. Ride nice these days as well.

Nice truck always clean no dents. he would call it a "Gentleman's Truck"

I know another guy who would laugh about a dents and appears of his truck.
He say heck it's truck it's suppose to dents, it's truck.

I drive about 5K miles a year around town for the past 15 years do I need a new truck? I do not have a job to go to...so it is used on a as needed basis for grocery getting. That truck has had 3 batteries the OEM lasted 5 years the second 9 years and the third 6 years..now just started on the fourth and I am in the desert heat land that kills batteries.

The answer is no I do not.

I can't see spending that much for something that is going to fall apart around 80K miles.

I spec out a 2/4T gm every few months, ~50k. Obviously mid grade and gas. Makes a ton of sens to drop 50k so I can get free firewood.
