About 30 years ago, when a lot of the "flavored" coffee was the rage, the First Mrs. Beard and I would drink the hazelnut stuff, on weekends. I was on a 200MW cogen installation and working on a Saturday. I decided to bring in some of the ground hazelnut coffee.

Made a pot, and our Lead Engineer looked at it, sniffed the pot and poured a cup and walked away.

One of the electrical techs that often drank our coffee walked into the trailer, put his nose in the air and said "It smells like a wet dog in here!". From then on, Hazelnut coffee was known as "Wet Dog coffee".

No headaches. Like today, I didn't have any coffee and its 1pm and sitting at home waiting to get my butt out to work. Cutting back only because I notice my heart rate or blood pressure goes up a couple points more then usual. Coffee can be stop now and it wouldn't bother me but I sure will miss that bitter taste and the smell. I can't have more then 3 cups after 9pm. If I do, it will take a little more effort falling asleep.

One thing I gotta to say is that your standard Tim Horton's coffee is better then our Starbutt's regular coffee, that's for sure. I had a cup on Centre Street (Just past the bridge from downtown, for those in Calgary) with my wife waiting for some older relatives to make it to the restaurant. I was really surprise how good it was. It didn't taste anything like Starbutt's or someone ran it through a bag of charcoal.

Charcoal, Chicory, Cream, Sugar....whatever .

If I wanted to splurge on good coffee....Krispy Kreme and Dunkin....or the local Sheets stations...haven't in years.

Bag of Peets MD blend....freshly ground....travels with me very well too...I just like good coffee...consistently

Tim Horton's coffee is good because it is a friend along your route. Starbucks is nasty, because they are no friend.

Nope, giant urn style pecolator, like they have at church fundraisers, with the glass along the side so you can tell how full it is. Only bigger, and secured to the wall or table on which it rests.
