OK, my turn. Anybody interested in high end FILM cameras or lenses?
The "where to sell high end audio" thread brought me to this. Some said to offer it here so I will. I've sold on EBAY before but it was my nephew that did it for me. I don't have an account and he's travelling all over the place now. I did put an item on Craigslist to see what would happen and got no replies. I will set up an EBAY account and go that route unless someone here has a better idea. Just a sample of what I have are:
Rollei Sl66 with 4 lenses and more. Rolleiflex 3003 with a few lenses. Some Leica M mount lenses Koni-Omegaflex M with 2 lenses and more Nikon rangefinder with a few lenses Rollei 35 Linhof Technikardian 6X9 several old folding cameras like Zeiss Ikon, Voightlander, I can be more specific if anyone is interested in any of the above. I have more but it would take forever to list. The above are the more desirable items I have.

I sold a ton of expensive Nikon gear on Ebay.
I hate Ebay, but sometimes it's worthwhile. |

If you do sell on ebay, you will make the most money by selling pieces individually.

Contact Blue Moon Camera and Machine in Portland. They do a thriving business in film cameras and will sell on consigment.
Otherwise, get an eBay account. And sign up at one of the film photo forums and post a FS. Craigslist is a waste of time unless you want to give them away.

I used to develop and print 35 mm bw flim. Good times.
Still have all my dark room equipment. Should really get back into it. Do you have any 35mm camera bodies?

If you want top $$, eBay is really the only option. OK, you have 13% off the top for eBay/PP fees, but you also have a worldwide pool of buyers looking at your equipment. You have some desirable pieces. Search SOLD LISTINGS and you'll get a good idea of what they each will sell for. It is very time-consuming and will basically be a part-time job to list, sell, pack, and ship all that.
With a new account and zero feedback you'll be fighting a bit of an uphill battle at first. Sell off a bunch of the lower end stuff first to build up your feedback rating. Also, offer 30-day returns, free shipping, and the Global Shipping Program to come up at the top of eBay's search algorithms - otherwise your auctions will appear on Page 122 when somebody does a search .... ![]() |

Back in my high school days I had a home darkroom. I did all the photos and prints for my yearbook for two years. I got a job in at local photo studio. We had a full b&w and color darkroom. I have made a living in photography all my life. I still have some of my old camera equipment that I bough in the 1970s. It is not worth anything with all the wear and tear it has. I did sell my Leica enlarger long ago, it was an amazing enlarger.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the last batch of stuff i sold on Ebay through my nephew and it all sold at good prices. It was most of my 35mm stuff, Nikon and Leica mostly. Now I have the medium format and the Linhof to sell along with other 35mm that I somehow missed. I do have an Ebay account, but only as a buyer, never a seller. I think I'm going to try that route first.

I had to take a look and 2 are screw mount lenses, a silver 50mm 2.8 Elmar collapsible, silver 90mm f4 Elmar, and a funky M mount Rodenstock -Heligon A 35mm f2.8 lens. The Rodenstock from what I've been able to find out is somewhat rare with prices fluctuating wildly. Not looking to get rich, just move the stuff I'm no longer using. Let me know if you have any interest.

I do. It depends on what your're looking for. In SLR's all I have is a Nikon F2AS with a Nikkor-S 35mm 2.8 lens. The body has a couple of small dings on the top by the advance and it does show some wear. The lens is in great shape. I also have the Rolleiflex 3003 with a Planar HFT 50mm F1.8 and one with f1.4, Rolleinar-MC 200mm f3.5, APO-Rolleinar 70-200mm f3.5-4.5, A 135mm 2.8, 35-105mm f3.5-4.5, Carl Zeiss Distagon 18mmf4, and a Schneider-Kreuznach PC-Curtgon 35mm f4. I just found a Rolleiflex SL35 E SLR while lo0king at the lenses. As far as rangefinders I have the Nikon S I believe it is with a Nikkor SC 50mm f1.4, and Nikkor QC 135mm f3.5. The Rollei 35 which is a f3.5 model. Then a bunch of folding cameras as well as an Olympus XA and XA2. There may be more.

Here are a couple of pictures of my situation.
![]() The cameras on the shelves are cameras that I know are working and I use, the others are cameras that I've used for parts or have just been sitting there for years and I have no idea, nor do I care at this point if they work or not.

I tried dealing with KEH when i was selling my Leica equipment. I know the guy has to make a profit, but he offered me something like $175 for a lens that he had for sale for $625. When I asked him about it he got all bent out of shape telling me i had no idea what I doing and that I didn't know the used photo equipment business. I'd been into repairing, buying and selling cameras for almost 20 years at that point. Things were going digital and I no longer had access to a photo lab to develop and print my film so I had decided to sell and go digital. I sold on Ebay for just about what he was selling the same items in his store.
I think Ebay is going to be the way to go. A bit of a hassle, but I'll get the most money out of it.

Too bad keh.com is greedy and has a bad attitude. I bought some stuff from them many years ago and they seemed fine. As you said, they need to make a profit. It would have been a good fit for a bulk deal if they weren't so greedy. I think eBay charges 10%, right? Looks like a ton of work listing all those items separately or even in small groups.
