This forum has been invaluable to me in so many ways. Pick a subject and somebody here is knowledgeable about it. So many members have advised me on purchases and given how-to advice on a variety of subjects that I could not have gotten elsewhere. I try to contribute when I can, and hope I’ve added to the value others get from PPOT.

I am more of a lurker these days. I still check in, but have been very busy work wise. Also, I kind of got a bad taste in my mouth after my 3.2 motor build thread. The venom was strong!

Dan, I suspect there are more like you who have backed off on the forum because of people spewing venom. I guess you just have to reconcile with the fact there are keyboard jockeys who do that. I remember I got a treatment years ago from a member for seemingly no basis. Tobra came in and made a just comment on my behalf. I've done that once or twice over the years too on behalf of the forum or another person. Mostly you just have to ignore people like that.

Right now Rennlist owns the market for the newer cars, but Rennlist sorta sucks.

As for Miatas, love those things. A new RF with the Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, and aero package would be a perfect daily driver.
Yup

I was looking to buy an MG around 1999. One of the guys in my ski club suggested a 914 instead. Some one suggested Pelican for Porsche Parts and I joined the forums in the summer of 2000. It saved me from Automobile Atlanta!

I came here from Porschephiles and then PorscheFans (founding member) and have been mostly happy here.

PARF has degenerated into a place where some fools spoil the debate so I go there infrequently and have not taken much time to put content in there.....pearls before swine all too often.

But this forum is invaluable for my project and so I am happy to support the sponsor...

I joined in 2005 when I bought my 911. I've since sold it and bought a 944s2. Sold that and have been into BMWs for years. I enjoy this site so much I try to visit every day. It nice to discuss car things and everything else with like minds.
