Was in the basement of the rental today and noticed a continuous high sputtering sound.
The furnace dehumidifier pump wasn't shutting off. Just had it inspected. "Okay the float is stuck I'll jiggle it free".
Nope.
But moving the float did shut off the motor....when it was raised.
(That's the opposite of what's supposed to occur. How the heck did that happen?)
I didn't bother taking it apart and the local store was out of them. An extra hour drive but got er done.

Now that I've replaced the columns, I'm infilling between them with bricks from the wall I demo'd. Hand and knees work is sooooo slow and painful on my lower back.

I revived this yamaha trike my friend brought me. It just needed alot of little tinkering the main expense was the rear tires. I scraped all the plastics down they had a layer of oxidation and mold and they came out looking pretty good. I may end up keeping it in exchange for other work. Its pretty fun and peppy. Better than i expected. Also built an english wheel so i can do the tank and fenders for my fat bike. I made the filler section on the gas tank. So the wheels were just some old cart wheels i guess and my brother lathed them down on the brake lathe at work. Top one is flat and the bottom crowned. It works

Wow! I'd like to see a picture of that!

And what size is the engine on the Tri-Moto?

The tri-moto is a 125cc 2 stroke. Its not the fastest thing but alot faster than my atc110 honda. The bike was a kawasaki 200 three wheeler. Its was toast the back axle was trashed anyway it had a differential in it that was grenaded. And I always wanted to build a fat bike with a 3 wheeler this was the perfect canidate. Well amost. The tank was under the seat so i had to rework an old rusted out suzuki tank. The front red fender is for my 110 so I cant use it and ebay plastics are all quite expensive so I think im just going to make my own. I tried replicating it with fiberglass but I didnt like the way that was turning out. The swingarm and tank are almost done. When I get them all done i will move on to the fenders and seat. I still never had it running. It had no cdi so my brother is going to help me wire it up by adapting a china bike cdi. Im planning on doing it kawasaki green and blue like a tecate. But plans can change.

Yes it is. I've become a mason in my own mind. Looks easy on youtube when a guy that's been doing it for 40 years makes a video.

PS: can you guys learn to edit your photos down to a size that we can see and understand them.

OK thanks, Paul. YT has been a game changer for me!

How's this for a smaller pic?

HobieMarty- Your pictures are too gigantic to be of any use on a laptop. I can't imagine them on a phone or a pad. 1000 or 1200 pixels wide is the size I usually scale mine down too, if that helps?

^^^ On my iPhone, it doesn’t matter how big the picture is, they all look the same size.

The only variation is YouTube videos sometimes.

Sorry, I selected.the wrong size, I selected "original size" when I usually select "medium" sorry for the overkill. I post things from my phone, in fact I don't ever use a computer and do everything from my phone so I had no idea the pictures were so big until someone said something in the model car thread.

No biggie, Marty......harmless mistake. We all make them.

Can you go back to your post and edit it? There's an edit button below it. Click on it and delete your humongous photos. Then do a new post and use the "medium" option for them. I always enjoy seeing everyone's work but couldn't tell what you were doing in that first post.

Cheers!

Today I received my latest Goodwill auction win. It's a ball head mount. I plan on making a plexiglass piece to fit in one of my train cars so the mount can be used to put a camera on for 'on board' videos.
I needed to clean up my attempts to cut the plexiglass so this is my version of a router table.

It worked out well as I was able to file the plexiglass to fit in the train car. Classic slip fit with no discernible movement once it's in place.

I still need to drill/countersink the hole for the attachment, but it's time for football now so that'll have to wait.

Installed some ship salvaged porthole windows I've had laying around for years. 14", they light up the shop a bit better. Solid brass and thick glass, I know, over kill for a shop. I made inside trim rings out of 1⅛" plywood, run around the router table and wrapped with hemp
