Got this Buick for free on friday. Saved it by a matter of minutes from going to the junk yard. Lady who we do work for on her cars and stuff. She drove it 12 miles to the shop with the strut collapsed onto the nearly new tire on the highway. So it needs struts and a tire and brakes. She gave us a car once already that we ended up fixing and selling back to her for a few hundred bucks. But I dont think she wants this one back. Im tempted to keep it. Nice and luxurious inside.

Fuel pump on my Z06 not working some of the time. Mechanic couldn’t get it not to work. Happened again today. Found a burnt fuel pump wire. It’s melted in there, I can’t move it. It’s getting towed to the mechanic tomorrow and he’ll deal with it.
According to Dr. Google this a common issue with the C6.

Replaced the back up camera on my F150 today. It’s been wonky and I’ve been putting it off.

I put the cowl on and touched up the lower cowling before blending the white and adding the last several coats of clear.

Cutting dead ash tree with my stihl ms251. blade got pinched so i grabbed another saw and let it go. Well it fell it smashed the hell out of the saw. Broke all 3 handles. The throttle handle is part of the gas tank and that had a blowout. $120. in parts later and it will be ok again. Stupid games win stupid prizes or something? Its my favorite saw so I cant let it die. I found it on the curb for free when it was nearly new. The guy left the brake on and melted the clutch and oil pump. So alot of parts have been replaced already. Still better than a husky

Back on the super cruiser, pretty much dialed in the boot cowl install along with the side metal. Next job will be to fit the windscreen.

Thanks - it reminded me a bit of my late Mom's '08 Taurus. Not because it looked like it but because it looked very similar to what they produced in family sedans back then. This one only has 24K on the clock......

Dropped the Silverado off this morning to do a few things.

1. Replace broken driver door handle

2. Replace plugs/wires

3. Remove all bed bolts, smear with Never Seize, and re-install with enough force that I could remove myself with my ratchet wrench

4. lube all suspension points

5. replace trailer hitch

I provided the plugs/wires and trailer hitch.

Was charged $487. Happy to pay to have someone do all this in this weather & without a lift. Gotta keep my work truck going! He said he's never heard an engine sound as quiet and run as smoothly as mine. 244K miles so far....

My mechanic pointed out I need a new drive shaft support, outer tie rods, and steering rack boot....all of which I have already ordered and should be delivered next week.

New engine has arrived!

It’ll take several what are you fix-it-ing today posts to see the start to finish. But it’s my DD, so not too long.

Was working on a 911sc putting it back together after it came back from paint earlier this week. Installing some new gas ranges at the apartments. I used to have my plumber do it, but they come when they have time, and charge me $200+.

Got the new engine in the garage. At 90* and sunny, it was hot. 🥵

That’s it for today. Definitely need to wait for cooler weather to install it.
