There will be fights tonight.
I have a game at 845 so I’m going to miss some of it which annoys me. |

Interesting that all the commentators were talking about Binnington giving up a rebound that led to the goal. I missed that. I guess they are expecting (and rightly so) perfect games from the guys with the extra pads.
Well, play ball |
Binnington not looking Sharp , two soft goals . Could be a long night for the Blues .
|
yeah Binny sounding more like a Binner tonight.;) But they're still in it. Storms have wiped out TV here so dealing with Da Broons homers on radio tonight :(
|
The Bruins are not looking sharp. Its going to be a long night.
|
The Blues musta heard me about the hitting, but they still need to stay outa the bin.
I'm still w/out TV so tell me, is Rask drawing these penalties or are the Blues just being careless? edit: Holy crap Binny was strong at the end of the 3rd. |

The Bruins have a lot of blocked shots, a few great saves by Rask, and one pipe (also known as part of the goalie equipment). The B's have their hands full with being short one D and a motivated Blues offense. |
wow that didn't take long, heck of a time to take a penalty. Was it a good call?
|
Swept his feet in front of the ref. Accidental? Probably. Still needed to be called.
Split in Boston and heading home. Looking like an interesting series... |
Sunqvist hit was interesting too. Penalty was called.
Was a hit to the head although Grzelcyk was off balance and was not in great position on the end boards to be on the receiving end of a hard check. Need to see a few different angles on that one... |
Wow the Blues woke up and the hitting intensified ! If the Blues can continue with that amount of pressure AND stay out of the penalty box they have a good chance to win the cup . But if they continue to give Boston power play's it will cost them . Lets see how the Blues do in the next two home games .

Joe? You OK pal?

Very entertaining game last night. Sort of old time hockey with the physical play. Glad to see it. STL showed more than I thought they had in them. Can I get out of my B's in 5 call and move to B's in 7?

"Grapes" constantly belabours the point re: turning one's head as they are approaching the boards. To Bill's point, Grzelcyk's play on the puck put him in an awkward position & in part contributed to the negative outcome of said hit. The Blues' overtime effort was a resounding display of puck control dominance over the Broons & their inability to clear the zone - of course the delayed penalty helped seal the deal. Game On!! Cheers JB |
JB, you're right that was as good a sequence of puck control / forcheck as you'll see, during the OT. They were dominant.

I will say that the Blues deserved the win. The Bruins didn't play well. The B's top line was gawd awful so there is plenty of room for improvement. I am optimistic that when the Bruins have all 6 d-men playing in the game and Cassidy puts together a different plan they will be a force to be reckoned withagain. Both goalies need to step it up a notch. I am surprised by the suspension. I wasn't looking for it. I'll have to look at it again. I wonder if they refs will be calling tighter games now? |
One game suspension for Sundqvist.
Lame. The call on the ice was correct. And sufficient. |
I'm only positing this as a guess (also my opinion) because I believe Sundqvist,
while finishing his check, could have "let up" a tich as he had time enough to see the defender was an easy & vulnerable target. This suspension could be lumped in with a few other of the league's - at times - nebulous definitions of acceptable hits as opposed to those which in their judgement, cross the line thus subject to disciplinary action. Whilst one must applaud the league's efforts to curtail the truly dangerous plays (head shots come to mind), all of us are aware due to the nature of the sport, video review & other inputs can sometimes end in decisions which are less than 100% correct. I for one, was not surprised the league took this action. Cheers JB |
