There are also a couple of other big things, carbon credit sales to FCA, etc. in Europe, things like that don't last forever either.

There is still a wide gap between the -.40 per share analyst estimate and the +1.90ish or whatever posted.

It'd be really interesting to see all of the one time stuff removed and see where the profit line lands. Even .10-.25/share vs being negative would be a good result sans excuses.

On the US decline, I've heard that wait times are up quite a bit at certain periods in the quarter when they are shipping a ton of stuff overseas. I'd think the China production about to start up should help that at least a little bit.

They beat expectations. Those expectations were in the toilet. A lot of needed cost cutting.

Compared to last years third quarter.

Earnings 3rd Q
2019 - 143 milion at 80 cents a share
2018 - 311 million at 1.82 a share

Adjusted for one time items
2019 - $1.92 per share
2018 - $3.02 per share

Revenue
2019 - 6.3 billion
2018 - 6.82 billion

They still have a long way to go.

The long term economics of EVs is beginning to turn in their favor. Couple that with a growing number of drivers who love these cars and tell their friends. I know a dozen Porsche owners who also have a Tesla in the family. They really do love these things.

I don't own an EV and at this point have no desire to own one. Still, a rapidly growing number of people worldwide do want to own one. This is market-changing stuff and betting against Tesla is looking a lot more risky.

IDK.. seems reasonable. Although why not just use your cellphone as a hotspot?

That's the point... It's only 10 bucks so people pay it without complaining but if you look at the video they're not getting a lot for their money.

But I'm notoriously cheap. My kids call me Scrooge but I love Christmas.

Considering OnStar is $15/mo for the stuff that you get on the Tesla without the subscription and closer to $40 with Internet (not apples to apples since it has a hotspot), it seems pretty reasonable to me.

I got the email and signed up right there, it was a known thing anyway having bought the car after the July last year cutoff.

I'm on a data plan that is $12/GB for a group of phones, and I easily use that much in the car streaming, etc. so it's a wash or even a savings still at that price, wouldn't be for everybody.

I'm trying to figure out if I put in a sell order or continue to ride the roller coaster. I'm profiting at the moment.

Wow...how did Tesla not go under w all of the people on this board sticking pins in their Elon Musk voodoo dolls??

I forgot the golden rule of investing-whatever people on the internet are saying, do the opposite.
