Nope. Not at all. They are cruising faster to catch up with speeders.

Or shadowing a speeder ahead.

At least that’s what I think. Could be wrong. But that’s how I got busted. Dude crept up to me in my blind spot and marked my speed. Busted!

Situational.

If it is the Barney Fife hanging out giving tickets for going 50.1MPH in a 50MPH zone, yes.

To me it is about control and awareness.

I have seen police officers not able to keep a lane, using their laptop. In that situation even going the speed limit is dangerous.

A few months ago a cop comes speeding up behind me with his lights on so I pull over on a very narrow road with a curb along side it, no shoulder and very dangerous area. Scraped my brand new rim on my truck pretty bad. As soon as he gets by me he turns his lights off and then stops normally at the red light at intersection. No emergency.

Sorry just never have been a fan of cops and I’ve known a few personally.

Few years ago I’m pulling away from street parking in 911 and putting on seat belt at the same time. Cop immediately pulls me over and gives seat belt ticket and says “ you always drive your PORSHHH without wearing your seat belt”. I argued with him and that didn’t go so well.

I see cops excessively speeding while on their cell phones. Pisses me off

What grinds my gears the most is sitting in traffic at a red light, our light turns to green, and some ashat blows the red light and the cop ignores that. Most cops will ignore 5 to 8 over except in school zones and in a school zone, 25 means 25 not 30.

Arguing with a cop on the side of the road will never ever work, 100% of the time. Never. Ever. If it is important enough, just wait until the court date, and tell your story to the judge. You have just a slightly better chance unless you have strong evidence in your favor. Just be polite and respectful, and answer the questions and do not add any details. And use yes sir and nor sir, and do not give them any attitude.

Always buckle up before you drive away.

Watching cops speeding through traffic doesn't really trigger me. Many other things do, but not that one.

Yep. Hands on top of the dash or the steering wheel, wait until they ask a question before you speak, and like Glen says, show respect. It might raise your hackles, but that's the world we live in.

Didn’t like his arrogant attitude especially since I had the belt on. He made it clear he had a problem with the car I was in. I’m always respectful and just like cops, being a lawyer, I’m a part of a group that is hated because of a few bad apples so I have some empathy. But the older I get, the less I like cops, judges and lawyers. The three things that being a lawyer, I have to put up with every damn day. I guess I’m just sick of it.

I don't care about speeding, but seeing them text, or mess around on a laptop while driving gets me going. Completely unacceptable.

Yep ^ I don't mind any 'aggressive' driving as long as they are engaged/attentive. And as long as they are ok with others doing the same.

Sac County Sheriffs are the worst drivers on the road. Full of ego and arrogance.
All while CHP are the best.

I prefer when LEOs speed (on the freeway). Otherwise it clogs up traffic.
Running Stop signs and lights, I cannot stand.

I don’t mind them speeding if they are passing me. It’s when they’re speeding while following me that pisses me off.

Careful with that, nail that sticks up gets hammered down.

Nothing you could possibly say to them will change their behavior, it just calls you to their attention.
