Keurig 'drip tray' holds 12oz.

Found this out this morning as I stumbled in to the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee without the cup.

Luckily not a huge cleanup for me.

So I guess you were not the first person to do that.

Did you just use a straw to drink your coffee from the tray?

Coincidentally, the biggest cup you can make with a Keurig is 10oz

Seems like good engineering to me.

I usually run 20 oz in the pot to pour into the machine. If I don't flip up the top of the machine....it goes on the counter. If I don't place the pot under the drip....it goes on the counter....and I lose the coffee too .

One time each....I learned too

I considered pouring it in to my cup, but decided against it.

I tossed my keurig in the trash about 2 years ago. What a silly little gimmick.

A catch-22.

You need a coffee before you can make a coffee.

Haha, I just did this last week. The girlfriend wasn't around and I had just cleaned the tray, so I just dumped it in to my cup and pretended like nothing happened. Mine will do a 10oz cup and the tray was basically full... i guess the keurig engineers must vary the tray volume on the different machines.

It just amazes me that so many people pay so much for coffee. I buy the big Folgers can, and use a old school coffee maker. Maybe 10 cents per cup for coffee.

Coffee, black. Easy peazy and dang cheap. No cholesterol, gluten free, maybe one calorie. Yummy.

Makes a variety of beverages, not just for coffee. Otherwise I wouldn't have one. Now my espresso maker that uses a similar sized prepackaged cup is nonsense.

I still have the Keurig because my girlfriend uses it. She likes cheap, fast, easy.

I like my Breville Oracle set up with whole bean French Roast from Panache coffee. Once you get all of the variables dialed in, you just can't drink any other coffee anymore.

Keurig coffee is weak and thin, I think. Nespresso coffee is much stronger, I suppose it is designed to make espresso while Keurigs are designed to make something like drip coffee.

I quite agree. Nescafe is the best instant coffee IMO. It's perfect with sugar and cream already added. Keurig has a setting that allows you to make the coffee stronger. Basically it slows down the water delivery rate.

We have a Keurig because we drink maybe a half-dozen cups of coffee a week, maybe less.

I buy coffee by the pound (maybe $10) and use the reusable Keurig pods. I think it would cost over $50 to buy as much coffee in official keurig pods.i

^this. Use the refillable pods. This solves the $$ problem with the Kuerig and also allows you to dial in your preferred strength by adjusting quantity and fineness of the grounds.

I've also tested the capacity of the drip tray...

It's call a drip tray for a reason. It's not called "spill tray" or "I forgot my cup tray".

Although I've done both.

I have a Jura Capresso E8 Super-automatic. Even with the same coffee beans, a drip maker pales by comparison.

After posting this, the Keurig died. Not sure how it knew I was talking about it, but it did.
Maybe Alexia told it?

Here's where Costco ROCKS.
Take dead Keurig to the service counter.
Pick out new Keurig.
Go home with new Keurig and $10 extra in my pocket.
As simple as that.

It amazes me people settle for dark, crappy smelling water thinking its coffee.
