Which would you rather have?

2000 Boxster S or a 2002 996 C4S?

None of the above.

I voted 986S but both are excellent. I tend to see the C4S as a poser 996TT without the power but I’m sure they are fun cars and look great. I just like the tossable Boxster.

When I bought my car, I drove several boxsters and caymans and even a 2001 996tt. I was surprised that the 2001 996tt felt boring. And it didn't feel that fast either. I'm sure it's faster than my 2008 Boxster S, but my car is a lot more fun and engaging to drive.

A Boxster S because it's not a 996.

The 2000 S but I have one so I’m biased. I’ve never driven a C4S but they’re good looking. Are they even in the same price range?

On looks alone, I have to go with the 996 C4S.

Of course, I’ve never sat in or driven one either.

996 all the way. It's the most under valued 911 to date!
Boxters are cheaper and they also feel cheaper IMO.

Have you driven a good 996? They are a brilliant drive... It's an old car now but they certainly don't feel old.

996 for me. I drove a 914 for 26 years. I have had all the convertible time I want for a lifetime. I want a coupe. And I would skip the weight of the 4 wheel drive system, and go with a 2 wheel drive model.

So bottom line neither, a slightly different coupe.

Felt cheaper? How? Aren’t the interiors exactly the same, except for two more gauges in the 996 cluster? Haven’t driven a 996 myself, so I don’t know... but that’s what I’ve read.
