BTW, here is my pick for reusable water bottles.
https://www.foodbev.com/news/fiji-water-releases-flip-top-bottle-to-attract-health-conscious-consumers/ Super light weight, cap stays attached, clear plastic allows UV to pass and inhibit growth of scum.

You mean the programs in the schools where them "scientists" that we don't want to believe once we educate them went? You know, why would we try solve a problem a third of the country refuses to acknowledge exists?
The bottom line is we need both approaches. Find ways to deal with the essential waste and maybe stoop to the level of not wasting so much. Quote:

I wonder if there's a plastics-centric version for the ChemE/PetE crowd? That'd be pretty interesting!

PET is the only FDA approved recyclable food-grade plastic.
And I'll post this here (again) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PET_bottle_recycling#Global_statistics --interestingly India is the top recycler of PET, at 90%

Suppose some puts a (clean) net-positive-electricity plasma generator into a semi.
They drive it over to the beaches in India. They put up a sign "$1 per ton" or whatever. The homeless go to work. There is no shortage of them. Those beaches will be clean in a month flat. Tourists start using them again. Income starts happening. Fish start returning. National/community pride and all that begins to happen. The government decides it's worth keeping them around or building their own. Everybody wins. |

BTW, did you know that wax --as in waxed cardboard carton-- is a plastic? Now what? Is the drink box thingy still more green? Paper and plastic fused together... Hey Pavulon, did you learn anything today?

Your posts are the discarded plastic bottles of PPOT. It was sooo much better when you stayed in the BARF recycler. Seriously.
