My turbo heater is bigger than your turbo heater .

I think I may have overestimated my heating needs .

There was a big one left here in the building when I bought it , but the owners of it came and got it a few weeks after I signed the deed
I remember that it would heat the place to unbearable levels in 10 minutes . Nice for those mornings when I come in and it is 17 deg in the shop . Ill get the place warmed up fast , then kick on the furnace .
It was a $50.00 craigslist grab. Down in Ambridge, Pa, where all the steel mills were, so it was probably used to heat a big ware house in the steel industry .
Ill get a new filter, and clean it all out, I bet it fires right up . It powers up, fan blows, and the igniter works, just the oil filter was full of rust .
500k btu, it is gonna eat some fuel ...

Yea, that is a big ol good un, or a good ol big un. And to make heat, it will suck up some fuel and make some noise. Good find for the price.

At my previous employment I had a pair of these turbo heaters, made by Pratt and Whitney. But they weren't worth a darn at heating the shop.
Too much piping and stuff to hook up

Your turbo heater is bigger than my turbo heater Im guessing it cost a little bit more than $50.00 on Craigslist

True, but yours is a lot more practical and efficient.
How loud is that thing at WOT?

A line voltage thermostat is only open or closed correct? I have 120v on the one side feeding the thermostat, but the other side, I can only get 4-5 volts. I assume, I am looking for 120v on the other side ???
Any how, Replaced the fuel filter, feed line, and the oil switch on the pump . Filled the filter tonight, and it fired right off, and runs great as long as I hold the relay down.
The only thing I can say is overkill . I raised the shop temperature 15 deg, in less than a minute . I gotta be careful where I put it , unlike my smaller heaters, this thing gets hot .
It may be too much for my space, but I'm gonna give it a run. I don't keep the furnace on at night, so some mornings, I am seeing sub 20 degrees when I walk in . It will be really nice to have the place cooking before I even get the air compressor fired up and the first snowy cars pulled in .

OK, you both win the internet today. Tomorrow’s prize is a used turbo heater, so be sure to come back and play again.
