That car belongs to a friend of a friend of mine. He sent me videos of the shakedown runs a few months ago. The sound that it makes!!!! Awesome!!

I was wondering what that was, thanks, another example of the greatness of the OT braintrust. Cars like this is why I have to get back to work on a few inventions I am working on.

If I remember correctly, that car was at the Monterey Rolix Reunion this past August. Great to see those great cars on the track.

I remember reading about weber carbs not happily accepting a certain amount of valve train lift overlap as well as benefiting from a plenum box above (to mitigate rear carb air starvation at speed) and directly below the carbs. Some Fords intakes had a small bulge cast into them expressly for this.

I was watching the video as my wife just returned from lunch. She accused me of watching car porn. Guilty.

It’s not overlap per se, it’s the cam holding the intake valve open when the piston starts to move up in the cylinder. The cam timing and length of the intake track are tuned to provide max power/torque at specific rpms. At certain rpm this produces positive pressure in the i tack track at other rpm.

My understanding is that lobe separation angle (LSA) is the issue. https://jiminglese.com/common-questions
