It’s sad the last racer team owner is gone from F1

It was Claire’s decision to leave. Dorilton wanted her to stay on.

The Renault name will disappear next year - to be replaced by Alpine. Likely in alpine blue. Not sure how much sense that makes as historically Alpine made rally cars and some LeMans prototypes but hey... the good thing is it means the brand Alpine is here to stay - I hope they sell their cars in the US someday - I’d happily trade my 991 for an A110!

I won’t be switching to an A110 if they come to the US but I’ve seen them in Europe and they are definitely a head turner.

Lack of a transition plan for the next race will bite them, but i guess since they are last it won't make much difference.

Unless the person in the car is a child, that is not a small coupe. Surprisingly light at 1100kg.

Who would have predicted that?
Unfortunate there are no fans to share in the celebration.

Basically the same team that gave Vettel his first win. Sweet!

As usual I got out of bed and landed on the couch where I promptly fell asleep. Woke up to talk of Hammy getting a penalty.
Message to Toto: rules are rules as you say. You could see the Mercedes guys working up a protest during the red flag. I kept waiting on the maFIA to somehow forgive the violation but with Gio doing the same it made it more difficult to bury it. Holy crap what a finish! Great for Gasly but I was really pulling for Sainz. Really good to hear the Italian anthem again. |

And it was really nice to not see a Hammy protest or tribute to some person he doesn't know.

Lando made s great point during interview re free tire change during red flag. It allowed Stroll to gain a non racing advantage and not have to make a stop that would cost time.
As he said ... stupid rule |

Turns out Formula 1 is still a thrilling game. Once the Mercs are out of the way, that is.
