Really, do you really want to know how I feel? Wait, let me ask my plumber and get his opinion.

I wish I had saved it - a week or so ago there was a person asking where she could get a plate of food for Thanksgiving - dropped off at her place - because she was worried about going out anywhere. It wasn't a scam. The people who rallied to her cause was nothing short of remarkable. I wish there were more threads like that one. Sadly there aren't but it was a nice respite anyway....

Pretty much dead on here, lol

Lots of people complaining about the poor guy sleeping in his van at night. But he's always quiet and gone in the morning.

It sounds like a digital social media version of an HOA, where the Karens of the world have a complaint platform...not something I want to get involved with.

That's EXACTLY what it is. The virtue signaling is so loud on that site, the players can't hear themselves be better than everyone else.....

Good Lord! If you're gonna ask a sub, then ask an electrician!

ok, I know your neighborhood so I'm gonna ask how many people post "be kind to the homeless / they're just like us" type responses to a post complaining about a guy sleep in in his van?

here, it is about 20 to 1 if somebody complains about needles and feces and their property being stolen

I live outside of the city in a smaller community and use next door occasionally. Excellent for lost animals as many have said, has a good classified feature as well.

You don't have to read the *****ing.

My wife signed up for it and uses it a little. It did help us when we were looking for a new cleaning lady. My wife said the lost pets and many Karens make it not worthwhile for much else.

I used it when it was a new thing but no more. At first it was great, I found all kinds of fantastic deals on stuff people just wanted to be rid of. I bought and flipped 3 cars on next door for a nice profit before it caught on then I just I stopped.. One nice flip was a 22,000 mi. '73 MGB all original I grabbed a few years ago for 3K, put a new battery in it and sold it a week later for 8K. (Probably could get twice that now but no room in the garage for investment cars). I don't even look at nextdoor anymore. It's just a local *****ing site.

We recently moved from Alexandria VA. There we used it to post about idiots that hit an old stone arch bridge on the George Washington Memorial Parkway near Mount Vernon. Here's a truck that hit it. Note that trucks and commercial vehicles are prohibited on the Parkway and signs are everywhere but you can't stop stupid.

OK, what neighborhood do I live in? No needles or feces on my street. Dude in the van is actually helpful.

Yep. I'd say the ratio is about 20 to 7. For the most part, its still a pretty good neighborhood.

South/East of Powell and 60th is where its getting bad.

sure, but it's in that area you mentioned - you meant close to the intersection I guess

the homeless here are mostly scattered around anywhere near a church but big concentrations are in the poorest areas
