The illustrious Gov. Murphy of NJ just announced all schools in the state will be closed by Wednesday. Bars, restaurants, casinos, and theaters all closed after 8 pm tonight. Take out and delivery will still be available if offered. And he's looking at a statewide curfew from 8pm to 5am. I didn't have a curfew when I was a kid, now at 65 I get a curfew.

Oh, and it better be for a gun you already have registered there, else no ammo for you!

Exactly. He is closing every thing that a little Corona Czar can. - Pay no attention to the fact that people had already been displaying an abundance of caution around these parts.

Might as well turn off your radios, phones, and computers then too, right?

Yes, the exhaustive media fear-mongering is enough to make one puke. However, just "turning it off" is not going to magically fix anything, or reduce the overblown state of panic they've already created. If you wish to live in blissful ignorance, I suppose that's your prerogative. However, many folks like to stay informed and aware, even if it means sifting through the sea of BS for the rare nugget of truth.

Local municipalities closed also. No building permits, inspections, CO's. Lucky we closed a house 2 weeks ago, should be able to ride it out.

Corona cold viruses are common though history. This hyper focus (obsession) is not.
You are correct about the economic effects and how it will hurt the working poor the most.

Everything else you posted is completely wrong.

Actually yes, there is unemployment coverage here. I do not know if illegal aliens are eligible for it, so that is a group that will get hit hard economically. They will still be able to feed their kids for free and get free healthcare though.

Can you imagine the lines at the EDD (CA Dept of Economic Developement)? This will violate the governor's rule of no gatherings greater than 250 people allowed.

In fact, they are closed.

Many of those guys are worse than crotchety old crows afflicted with chronic constipation and rectal incontinence, at the same time! The key is to feed them more shiit than they are able to pump out (a challenge, however, considering how full of the stuff many of them are), but I know that approach is not for everyone.

I know Rettings in Culver City..a good friend who passed in 13 worked there for lots of years..he forgot more about guns than i know.

Rettings always had choice stuff at retail pricing and they wouldnt dicker on price. My friend after he left Rettings went to work at Red Star which was right across the street.

Guns and ammo are good to go. Stores are getting cleaned out..they are better than Gold which surprisingly has taken a real tumble..

Pricing over the weekend was robust at auction.

Yep, that's a heck of a good gun store. Not many left...they used to be on every corner in L.A. until about 20 years ago. There is still at least one good one in Glendale, can't remember the name.

And what about the hoards of street people camping in LA, SF and Freattle? Those gatherings have to be more than 250 people.

They may not wander the streets, but at least their hygiene is top notch.

I heard about the elective surgeries being cancelled around here too. Was dropping off my grandson this evening, his mom schedules surgeries at the only place in town that is not cancelling elective stuff.

Their website always is quite frustrating. I have never actually gotten through their telephone maze far enough to leave a message.

One bar in town is still open. I have not gone out for a drink in at least 10 years, and think I might go buy a beer from that guy.

Here teh employee stays employed, but the employer puts him in economic unemployment.. and puts claim in with the relevant gov service to get his employee his payment..

It's not general unemployment, the contract remains, and as soon as business resumes, employee returns to full status.
