Will take apart my fanatec pedal set from my racing rig to see why the gas isn’t working :D let’s hope it doesn’t need parts...

Should do a new thread for this one! Love those old Trail 70s.

Guess it’s time to get back to this. I also have a transmission and engine to drop but not having a garage means I’m outside in the rain right now.

MrsWD went crazy and repainted the laundry room. It had been a tan color with horrible blue cabinets and red gingham curtain. She remade it in her own image - strange.

My contribution was building this shelf behind the washer and drier.

It is also a great time to replace the power steering system, get new ABS and the tire pressure monitor system.

While flushing the radiator replace the water pump as well.

With time on my hands, finally got around to installing a 3rd/center radiator on my '05 Carrera S...with the kit bought from Pelican Parts. This must be the single most cost efficient Porsche parts purchase EVER at $189 with our PCA discount! While I was in there, it was time to clean-up under the fender liners and around the rads.

The stand-off on the female side of the multi-wire connector had broken, and I was able to epoxy a 10mm bolt to it and enable mounting the connector to the headlamp mounting tray.

I've been retired for 5 years now and been keeping busy all that time - remodeling some rooms in our California home, working on our home in Arizona, and collecting parts for a few car projects. Last year I developed sciatica and it kept me from doing a lot for most of last year, as it got progressively worse over time. Finally bit the bullet and had surgery mid-February this year and recovery is going real well ... to the point where I'm back to working on stuff again.

Since the 'all day-long curfew' has been recommended/implemented, my wife & I have done all the spring cleaning and I'm back to working on the cars ... with a vengeance:

Replaced the ignition switch components and the turn signal switch in my '70 Ghia (it stopped running earlier this year) ... also installed a new lower dash/knee pad

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585800612.jpg

Installed a wood floor in the galley of my '84 Westy ...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585800766.jpg

Got my wife's '99 Beetle (which she never drives anymore) running after sitting for a number of years ...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585800945.jpg

Detailed my '96 Tacoma 4x4 (prepping for an upcoming sale)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585801028.jpg

... and an performed an oil change on my (new-to-me) '07 Cayman :)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585801113.jpg

I guess I'd better slow down ... no telling how long we'll be locked up at home

Still have a '71 914 I can work on, and a '66 912 ... but both need to get to the paint shop, so that's a little ways away right now.

Mark, you are certainly a go getter. Did you have back surgery?

Joining in Jan. 2000 and only having 163 posts tells me he's had other things to do.

Refinishing Headlight surrounds on 71 914-6 conversion. Not technical, but I managed to put a couple of good sanding marks in one I have to remove tomorrow.

Yes, Bob, lower back - L4/L5. Had spinal stenosis for years and the sciatica hit in the spring of 2019. I tried just about everything shy of surgery, but found a surgeon who came with several 'hi-mark' recommendations. Fortunately, it was performed before the COVID issue, since all elective surgeries are suspended for the time being. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat1.gif

Marv, I've been a Porsche owner since 1973, but I spend more time on 914 World than any of the other 'P' forums.

As for all the 'projects' we're doing, it's a good feeling finishing up some of the overdue ones. A friend and I are getting ready to start a laundry room remodel here next. We start the design/planning tomorrow (Thursday). Just too bad there's only 24 hours in a day - lol.

Hoping this health crisis blows over in short order and we can all get back to our normal(?) lives soon. Be really careful and stay safe. Keep posting your 'stay stuck at home' projects ... really enjoyable to see them.

I like 7-ft long timing belt jobs on interference engines!

Needed to repair an old mercury vapor lamp - it was dead to me...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585878680.jpg

It’s appears to be a quality fixture and it took me a while to figure out even how to open it. Turned out there was a tab to depress and it opened nicely.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585880970.jpg

But the insides were not so hot.
Or, really, it looked (and smelled) like it had gotten VERY hot.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585881259.jpg

So with the components fried, I decided to convert it to a 200W (equivalent) LED bulb.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585885533.jpg

But I had to rewire the whole thing, with the house (line) wiring going straight to the lamp socket.
