Long story short. Years ago I was dating a lady who claimed her ex husband was abusing their daughter (They also had a son. Both children were under 5). She had reported it to the authorities and the process of denying her husband access to their children had begun. How did she know? ... She said her mother who claimed to be a clairvoyant "sensed" what was going on. That was our last conversation.

Just re read the posts on this thread since the biginning makes for an interesting read........

Terrible thing for the guy to go through. Court of public opinion was prominent, then court of law prevailed. No innocent until proven guilty vibe.... but good to see he is clear of all charges.

Examples like this, and certainly the outcome of the Kavanaugh hearings, have made me move the other direction in my thinking. I would like to give women the benefit of the doubt, as they are more often than not the victims in cases of domestic violence from men.

No more. People lie. People game the system.

I think the pendulum swung too far during the Me Too movement, now it needs to regain some objectivity and fairness.

Mat will never get his reputation back entirely, not to mention the hundreds of thousands (or millions) of dollars that he has spent on legal fees. And what of his two daughters? Imagine the pain and stress they went through for several years, at a critical point in their adolescence? They are all smiles now but deep inside I think this may scar them for life. Mat’s a tough guy, he’ll do OK but no kid should go through this.

I wish Mr. Mladin all of the best. And, again, as java pointed out two years ago - this kind of nonsense will forever follow him, will forever be a cloud over his head. In that respect, those petty, vindictive accusers will forever have a bit of a "win", at least in their eyes, no matter how wrong it may be in ours.

And again, java, I honestly meant no disrespect to anyone. You are absolutely right in that I do not know, and will never know, any of the characters in this unfortunate drama. Please accept my apologies. I know this involved your friends, folks you know that I never will. I admire your zealous, unwavering support for them - I hope I have friends like you if something like this ever comes my way. They were just "celebrities" to me, and I felt free to comment on them in that sort of a detached manner. I was wrong. I'm sorry.
