I'll admit to all of the above.
Guilty of all the same if that makes things right.

Just another example of the unabashed hypocrisy that is often so rampant among many members of this forum. Maybe they're all unconsciously channeling the orange guy?!?!

Ya gotta give people room to grieve. And you aren't required to offer condolences if you don't like what he posted.

Wolfe: sorry for your loss.

Tell us about your uncle. Maybe a humorous story or a special moment that is close to your heart.

Social distancing works. And in lieu of testing combined with adult personal conduct, it is all we have. Nobody ever won friends with an angry screw you. It's not be good form, and it doesn't belong here. It is somewhat understandable in this case.

I don't think there is a hoax component involved with this virus, except perhaps the hoax that it is a hoax. An infected person really can make many people sick at a single social event, simple by being friendly and making close personal contact. This is fairly well documented. Spitters and knowing spreaders are in the wrong, IMO. If you aren't one of them, don't take it personally.

I would like to point out that no one is 100% right, 100% of the time, in their thoughts or their conduct. Maybe sometimes we should try to understand where people are coming from, and simply leave things be.

This is a terrible disease. It is tough when it hits home.

Just make this for Wolfe and his uncle and take this crap somewhere else.

Were you close with your uncle, Wolfe?

I've got/had 2 close uncles, my mom's brother and my mom's brother-in-law. One passed last year from Cancer and the other is currently terminal with a degenerative lung thing. I think he's down to something like 15-25% lung function combined. I knew them both as well as I know any relatives outside of my immediate family and both are in many of my earliest memories. It's rough.
I'll just let Island be who he is.

That's rough man, I'm sorry to hear that. It's difficult know that it's coming,

I was fairly close to him when I was younger. I haven't seen him in years though, since he moved to Arizona. Technically, he's my great uncle - my grandmother's brother. Peter was a car guy, like us. The first project I remember him doing was a Ford Model A. Unfortunately, I don't have pics of that, but here's a couple others I've swiped from Facebook.
Peter was a hairdresser years ago, owning a hair salon in Seattle. He became the last person to cut my hair - in 1989.
I've posted before about the WWII haunted hospital in Port Townsend, WA that belonged to my Great Grandmother. Peter was the one that sold it without consulting the family first. Not sure how he managed that, but we've all been kind of miffed about it. Nevertheless, we love him.

Here's a few of his restoration projects. .

Waitaminit.

You haven't even seen this guy in years? To whom you were 'fairly close' maybe decades ago? He was your grandmother's brother and screwed the rest of the family?

And you are using his unfortunate death to insult other people?

Cheap. Really cheap.

It's been about ten years since I've seen him. That doesn't mean we weren't still in communication. He wasn't estranged or anything like that, if that's what you're thinking.
Grow up.

He is (deservedly) mocking you and your OP there Wolfe. ...You know, your opening Screw you.

BTW, your grandmother's brother sold this place w/o consulting the family?

I'm guessing he was in his 90's.

No, this place. Built in 1871.
He was 77. Maybe 78? His birthday was the day before mine.

Uncalled for. Even if Wolfe is emotional and not thinking straight, we can still have some class and give him some space. Call him out in a month.

Thanks Wolfe for some details. Do you have any funny stories about him?
