PMO's are expensive. If you want to go EFI, then find a 3.2 inlet manifold to use as a base. Lots of people did this about a decade ago - so its a well proven exercise for not too much $$$.
Has the advantage of looking "factory" as well.

I am continuing to enjoy these episodes & I felt the suspense when you tested your headstuds.

Very very fortunate - as we say in Australia; you were kissed on the dick by a fairy :D , when they worked out OK.

Yeah, I was pretty crushed for a bit. I sort of expected that, but it was still pretty disheartening to find one that didn't seem to be attached to anything. Thanks for watching, working on episode 4 now.

I'm a newb, can you explain the differences?

Just watched & "liked" your video. Really appreciate you spending the extra time and hassle of recording and editing the process. Keep it up!

Was the car stored outside for a long period?
That crud near the spark plug shelf is nuts.

No, previous owner stored it in a below grade garage from about 1994-2012 or so. The crud is a combination of bird seed from mice that decided to live in the engine compartment and **** everywhere, and the deteriorating chunks of foam from the insulating pad above the engine. When I first got this car, the first thing I did was vacuum as well as I could with an extended tip shop vac, and ripped out as much of the foam pad as possible. Obviously did not get it all. Pretty gross.

Watching episode #3.
Man, I could feel your angst about not going too tight and snapping it yourself

Have you seen this series?

The Low-Buck EFI solution back in the olden days was a Bitz EFI kit. It worked quite well for not-too-much-money by using the original MegaSquirt software & it was reasonably well sorted out in 911's.

When you combined this kit with a 3.2 Carerra intake manifold, it was a proven EFI intake with 'proven' software. It could be done so that it looked original Porsche (at a glance).

These days one could improve on this easily/cheaply, especially if you are not too obsessed with originality and had the skills to make it look nice too.

Another suggestion for your project is to get a lightweight clutch & flywheel.
I had a 6lb all aluminium pressure plate in my old SC.

I like the editorial comments using captions. It is a terrific way to correct yourself, and to engage the audience.

I’ve watched episodes 1 and 2. I didn’t love the music but it is part of the form on all shows so I can get past it. Maybe watch the swearing? I love a good swear word, especially when working on a car, but it would be the next step towards a professional presence.

Music in Episode 3 was less intrusive. Or I am more used to it. Either way I am enjoying your work. Thanks for the content — I am almost attracted to Targas now . . .

Episode 4 is up! Leak Down Test!!!

Zelrik: Thanks! That makes sense. More than I want to do right now, but I understand the approach.

Zoo: Yeah, music is a challenge, I kept getting dinged on having copyright claims, so I'm venturing into the world of copyright free music, and brother, it is a tough world out there. Most of it is garbage. lol. For a street car in nice weather, nothing beats a targa. :P

Man, ep.4 the music is killing me. Annoying as hell. Keep trying! Mellow. It's a garage, not a nightclub.

Tell 'em to git off yer lawn. LOL I stopped watching them after about 30 seconds into the first one...so, yeah.

ADDvanced 05-04-2020 09:02 AM

So many critics on music choices but not giving me any examples... :P

I thought the music was pretty chill in the latest episode.

Can you post a link again?

Edit: found it.

I think the music is fine for what you are doing. It’s consistent with other videos like this. Is there a way to dial the volume level in so that it is lower than your speaking voice at all times? I don’t know editing so I am unsure what terms to use.

The high placement of your camera is effective.

How about these tracks:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPawsBRPZsk

Yeah, it's called audio ducking. I have it turned on so when I'm talking the music gets quieter.

Amail 05-05-2020 01:43 PM

I like your top track the best of the four.

sugarwood 05-06-2020 06:23 AM

That first track has that annoying as hell "cartoon voice"
As soon as I hear that, I close the window.

#2 has it also, like someone choking or something.
Gag...gag.....glub....glub....

#4 is the least annoying, but all are generic sounding.
Why don't you pay someone $10 to write you a little custom 10 second track?
Could be a nice experience for you.

ADDvanced 05-06-2020 07:28 AM

because my videos are longer than 10 seconds. I already have an intro track. I'm looking for tunes to play in the background of the videos.
