Those were the days - teenage years for me here in Ohio.
You pulled up to the pump and the attendant came over. You hold your left palm up by the window, take your right hand off of your girlfriend's leg, smack the palm against your left palm and slowly raise it. You get back to business with your girlfriend's thigh while the kid fills your tank. Give him $4 and tell him to keep the change.

Same here. Cayman gets stopped after the first click off. Truck has a fuel cell and no charcoal canister. It will always take another gallon after the first click off so it gets it. Back when I paid cash I did try to stop on even money to avoid a pocket full of pennies. That was long ago and far away.

Those are excellent, sir.

I just let it pump until the auto shutoff happens. I couldn't care less about the numbers.

Years (decades) ago, I'd try to get as much in as possible so the next fill up was further away, but see no need to do that now and overfilling is usually dis-recommended in current owners' manuals.

What Randy said.

As an example of how non-OCD I am, when I need to set an alarm on the bedside clock radio (which is rare since retirement), the numbers scroll pretty fast if I'm changing it from the last time I needed to set it. Whatever time I need, say it's 10:30, I just lift my finger off the button when it gets close and don't readjust it to the exact time. 10:27 or 10:33 is just fine.

As a matter of fact, you could almost say I'm OCD about it NOT being on the exact time.

Thankfully in TX you can still lock the handle and don't need to carry a tennis ball.

Set it, forget it, when it clicks off by itself I'm done.

Could care less about price or quantity, I got a full tank, I'm good.

I pay cash and save myself the merchant svcs fee. So the tank is never "topped off" and I'm always at a round number on the $ side. On the gallons side, I am a bit superstitious about stopping in the $13 range. It always seems to bring bad luck.

My DD I fill up when I see cheap petrol and I have time. My AutoX car I fill to the point where I have precalculated the amount needed to get me to the event complete the runs and an extra gallon to get me to a Shell station( highest octane gas in the UK,which the engine demands)on the way home. Try to leave only the odd gallon
in the tank when I get home as I only use the car for infrequent events and like to put fresh in.

When I lived in Pakistan, the guys pumping the gas would rock the vehicle several times to try to get in an extra ounce or two...

I had the slowest pump in the world in late March . . .

I usually watch the price and it was taking what seemed to be ages to fill my GTI based on the price. Then I realized it wasn’t slow, it was that gas was 40 cents a litre cheaper than normal.

The 911 gets boutique gas that has been carefully curated. The guys are always nervous and careful when inserting the nozzle, but the women don't seem to worry too much...

I use the redneck station, even tho I have to drive 20 miles to get there.

Always fun.
