This summer when a Bronco drove past me on M36 what caught my attention was the hood was higher than the roof of my wife's Chevy Cruze. It may have been a Bronco with the largest wheels, not sure. Below is a side by side with a jeep for comparison.

I’m yet to see a true Bronco on the road. Saw a Bronco Sport a few weeks ago in passing on the highway, it looked ok but pretty typical for a crossover.

They only have the Sport Model on sale at this time.

Reserve Your Bronco
Reserve now to secure your Bronco. Beginning in January 2021, you will be able to convert your reservation to an order with your preferred Ford Dealer.

In May 2021, your Ford Dealer will be able to provide an approximate date for the delivery of your Bronco. Initial Bronco 2 and 4-door deliveries are targeted to begin in summer 2021.

Due to the high number of Bronco 2 and 4-door reservations, deliveries will extend into the 2022 calendar year. Some customers will receive a 2022 Bronco.

might be worth noting the FJ was not a big success for Toyota and is out of production. read up on them a while back and fair bit of complaining about overall usefullness of the design. wonder if the also cool looking bronco will suffer this fate. being a ford product we know it's gonna be poorly screwed together and loaded with unreliable tech that is more show than go.

Why being a Ford product would that be the case?

My Fords have always been reliable. Imagine if Audi built the new Bronco, then I would agree with you....,

The FJ’s have a very strong following now.

Yeah that was one of the dumber comments I’ve read in a while. I’ve had a number of modern Fords that have all been great vehicles. That’s also reflected in surveys, ratings, etc.

they simply do not feel like quality products in any way. not the ride, the way they're screwed together, the materials, even the tech is cheesy and seemingly there just to say it's high tech. Explorer on up are junk. terrible resale, lousy with doodad problems and friggin aluminum panels to help the paint bubble. and the designs have never aged well.

my office neighbor uses ford cars and small suvs for his business. has done so for over a decade. bought a tricked out explorer last year. couple weeks ago he says 'i'm done. pos exploder is constant issues, none of the tech works right consistently'. took a beating on trade and bought a different brand. the concepts might make sense but the execution is always lousy with ford.

I think your Ford perspective is accurate circa 1995, and is due for an update.

i think design wise it's not improving at all. if quality is improving i've not seen it. checked out an explorer (new) a year or so ago. truly felt like stuff was gonna fall off in my hands. lousy design in every sense of the word.
