The 2400 mile 968 journey began yesterday

Well, sorry I haven't posted an update. Cell reception has been kinda crappy.
I left the Seattle area yesterday after filling up with ethanol-free gas at about 3pm.

My first refill was 462 miles later in Milltown, MT. Only this time, it was corngas. A bit over 16 gallons worth. That tak only took me 337 miles to Billing before I needed to fill up again. The third tank - non-corngas went 387 miles...

I'm currentl halfway between Murdo and Chamberlain, SD.

Som other pics...laptop battery running low, I'll post more later.

I am starting to like the 968 more and more. It seems like a very capable GT while being unique.

Good luck on the trip.

Any truck stop or Walmart should have a cigarette lighter 120V inverter.

Same for USB phone chargers.

McDs etc and some cafes should have free WiFi available 24/7.
(Set your computer security settings to "public" or "highest" first.)

Well, props to you for the long trip. Love the long hauls across this fair country.

I see your mileage is getting up there. Consider changing out your Variocam unit at the next timing belt change...

I love gathering bugs that way.
Looks like you're moving right along.
What are the speed limits out in that neck of the woods?
Stay safe.

Google says 16 h 3 min (1,110.3 mi) via I-90 E from Kennebed, SD.
I figure if I leave at 6am tomorrow, I should be there around noon.

You should be able to pick up McD's wifi from the parking lot. I used to do it in my work truck and laptop.

Why are you adding Seafoam? I love the stuff for cleaning plugged injectors or carb jets, or removing moisture from fuel but don’t understand it as a regular additive(?)

Probably to help combat the effects of the ethanol gas he's having to buy.

I love road trips and have been back and forth across this great land from Whidbey Island Wa to Key West and down through Mexico into Belize.
Unfortunately my health prohibits anymore fun so I have to live vicariously through everyone else’s adventures.
Thanks for the updates and drive safely.

don't think it will help with EtOH, which is not an issue if you rip it thru the motor at 85 mph

- where are the nice pics of the mountains?
