I'm just catching up on some NFL highlights today.

So when has throwing punches been a thing in the NFL?

Open handed punch maybe?

A grab and pull?

Effective, yes.

Apparently this player has done something similar before and the fans approve.

I'm thinking it could get out of hand, but when do they start calling it a penalty?

Derrick Henry Disrespectfully Stiff Armed Lions CB Alex Myers Straight To HELL

Derrick Henry has done it again.

Weeks after stiff arming Josh Norman into the center of the Earth, the Tennessee Tiatns RB did it again.

On Sunday, Henry tossed Lions CB Alex Myers like he wasn’t even there during their game
When we played as little kids with no protection at our get-together games we didn't allow stiff arming because kids were getting hurt and it was supposed to be friendly play - no blood, and no injuries that we would have to explain to our moms.

I guess if Derrick Henry doesn't injure himself and snap his wrist he's going to keep doing it.

I might have to watch a few more Titan games. ;) :o

One of the worst ref calls happened today...

I've only watched the last four Lions games as NFL Highlights, saves my whole Sunday. :)

Looks like the Lions choked twice at the goal line and didn't even get 3 points.

Prader is making it normal for him to miss easy points, so sad to see.

The highlights did not cover that bad roughing the quarterback call.

To be honest there was enough disappointment already. :D

A beer sounds good.

stevej37 01-03-2021 04:43 PM

^^^ Hopefully they improved their draft pick with the loss. :)

The 'roughing the passer' call was terrible. Only the Lions would get one that bad.

Ex just texted me and said the Browns beat the Steelers and have a playoff spot. Pfffft.

Cabby or fastfredracing must have put her up to it.

Prater, for the Lions, is truly a hometown hero.

My friend in Cleveland is happy...and nervous. Browns 1st playoff spot since 2002.
Nervous because their first playoff game is vs. the Steelers...

Weren't me! I want to congratulate the Browns on their 2 point victory against our second string! For your win, you get the play our first string in the first round!:D

For the AFC/NFC championship games
Packers v Saints
Chiefs v Bills

That's my call.

And for offseason moves... Carson Wentz to the Steelers. A lot of jibba jabba about Sam Darnold going to the Steelers but I think I'd rather see Wentz go.

What is the collectives thoughts on Urban Meyer being considered for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching job ? I am guessing he has enough $$$ for several lifetimes , he has known health issues so why leave a cushy commentator job for the high stress of rebuilding a NFL team on the national stage ? Is it simply ego ? Of course at this time it is just rumors but supposedly behind the scenes he is building a staffing list .

There are rumors/speculation that Myers wants to work with Trevor out of Clemson . Assuming they draft him that is a good building block to start with . But is it worth all the mental and physical stress ? What do you guys think ?

The Texans snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. AGAIN!

flatbutt 01-04-2021 05:07 AM

I'm incredulous over the Eagles performance. Even with the benefit of a doubt it's hard not to believe they tanked on purpose for draft consideration.

With his contract set to expire in March and leg set to turn 37 years old in training camp, he faces an uncertain future in Detroit. But clearly he still has a lot of leg, and will likely get an opportunity somewhere in the league.

He said he hopes to return to Detroit for an eighth season.
An off year for Prader is better than most kickers best season I'm guessing.

I hope he stays.

The Lions and the Las Vegas bookies are at war, the Lions are just too unpredictable for them to make money and must be perpetually punished.

The Calvin Johnson Rule and 4 Mandates the NFL Needs to Change Most

The NFL's 'Calvin Johnson Rule' is one of the most highly debated and inconsistent principles being used in the game today, and it has been responsible for a number of negated touchdowns this season.
I have no doubt that Megatron's somewhat early retirement was a result of the officials continued underhandedness.

I hear you and I wasn't bragging. That's irresponsible for a Brown's fan.

The new rule is if you land on top of the QB, it's roughing. You can disagree with the new rule, but the call was correct.

Stay retired. Why would he do that to himself, great a coach as he is?

That head coach needs kicked in the nuts. They should have left Jalen in. I read somewhere online that a lot of the team veterans were pissed that Pederson yanked him.
